Earthworm Jim hits North American PSN next week photo

Gameloft's high definition remake of Earthworm Jim has already hit the PlayStation Network in Europe. How's that working out for you guys?

Folks in the US, however, have to wait until next week. Gameloft has confirmed that Earthworm Jim HD will hit PlayStation Network in North America next Tuesday, August 3. The update isn't a direct port of the original, though. The game will feature three new levels, as well as local and online cooperative play for up to four players across 15 new multiplayer levels.

It'll cost you $9.99, which is seems reasonable for some high definition cow launching.

Coming Tuesday to PSN: Earthworm Jim HD for PS3 [PlayStation Blog]

It'll proably make your ps3 crash just like everything else Sony does.

Does anyone really care? Yeah, the updated graphics look nice but the gameplay remains below average and the controls are clunky and frustrating as ever.

Now it's impossible to read "Earthworm Jim" without adding mentally "Sterling" in front of it. GOD DAMN IT.

Tried the demo last night, enjoyed the hell out of it :D though one thing I would suggest is play it on original difficulty, the other difficulties seem trivial imo!

@Neroisonfire

First of all, I don't suck at games especially when it comes to the platformer and the sub-genre, action platformer. Those happen to be my favorite genres.

Secondly, you must be living under a rock as the original Earthworm Jim games were notorious for having bad controls. This new updated version doesn't change that. Have you not even read the reviews for the 360 version ? It doesn't look like you have.

Despite not being a Earthworm Jim fan myself (Don't hate me), playing the demo, I started imagining how wonderful it would be if Sega started giving 16-bit classics the HD makeover.
Think about it: Streets of Rage HD, Ecco Th Dolphin HD and above all Comix Zone HD!!
Orgasmic!

I played the heck out of the first two Earthworm Jim games and don't remembered them having bad/frustrating controls. Malarkey.

Ten bucks for Earthworm effin' Jim?! This is probably the only time I('ll) feel like I'm underpaying. :/

@Hiltz - Why would I need to read reviews on a remake of a classic that I've already played a demo of? Don't take it too personal man, it took me years to beat Mega Man. :)

This is the best thing Gameloft have ever done.

Now that they have proven themselves adept at remaking 16-bit classics, they should continue to do so.

@sprldr yes they should remake the classic sonic series sonic 1,2(maybe add the lost zones if they can),sonic 3 & knuckles(complete version optional different sonigs such as the miniboss and knuckles theme) and sonic CD(both soundtracks) and they should do Ristar,Jazz Jackrabbit and Jazz Jackrabbit 2 this is my list
