I don't get why EA would invest in a legal battle with Zynga when they could most-likely spend less money simply buying them and subsequently destroying them, just like they do to everyone else every day?
Oh, I forgot that they are only making a big scene to try and get on the gaming community's good side. This also explains the "Thank you for your support" statement that has left us all looking at each other wondering where the support is coming from.

It seems pretty clear to me that EA has been sitting on this for a while, and was just waiting for a chance to strike and not look like the douchebags we know they (higher ups) are.
...because in taking a step back, Zynga and EA fighting over plagarism and unoriginal concepts is quite hilarious...if it didn't mean disaster for us end users.
But wait until Zynga has finally mismanaged it's plagarized empire into the ground in tandum with alleged insider trading lawsuits in the works...prefect time to try & raise up a little good 'pro-gamer' pr, fool the lesser minds into thinking EA actually has good will towards it's customers regardless of the years of severe crapulance.
Actually I'm curious where Hasbro and Parker Brothers are with the plagarism lawsuits...Scrabble and Boggle anyone?

Zynga is hated for ripping off games, especially ripping off indies which will gain you no love.

1) What peers? Who are they and what companies are you talking about. Are they peers under EA's wing or are they other publishers, like Activision?
2)Of course EA and Maxis employees aren't going to have an issue with this, your -kinda- fighting for them, seeing as how your saying The Ville is too much like Sims Social. Plus, if they don't tote the company line, what kind of whip would EA crack?
3) Players hate both companies, EA knows this and is just spinning it. And I feel as though I could say that as fact, not opinion. Its just gamers see the horror the industry faces if the likes of Zynga gets ahead. I mean, its bad enough EA's plan was to become a lot like Zynga any way. Dear EA: We not liking Zynga doesn't meant we like you by result. Stop trying to win back the people you piss off the most.
I understand the hate for EA, but I want EA to win this case against Zynga. I consider EA to be the (slightly) lesser evil.
Well Jim, I imagine this "PR campaign," as it were, is really targeted at the same dumbasses who voted them "the worst company in America," rather than mentally competent people such as yourself. Such people's opinions might be swayed by this kind of display.
Whose support? Even if EA is in the right and wins, they will be seen as corporate bullies (which they already have proven to be many times over). I'm no fan of Zynga, but go to hell EA!
This could be a viable strategy for EA. If they only ever compete against companies that are totally morally bankrupt, such as Bank of America, RBS, the American Nazi Party and such, gamers will support them by default.
Well if Extortion Arts is attempting to fool me into backing them up in their fight against Zynga, it has backfired. I actually hope Zynga wins.
