I'm kind of surprised that Facebook got as high as it did.
I mean, I've always disliked it, like that part where they are able to invade my privacy even though I don't even have a damn facebook account, but I didn't know there were more people who thought that way.

Anyways, I'm in agreement that EA deserved this, despite not committing crimes in the same league as those other companies. This feels like more of a popularity contest anyways, and not really meant to be taken seriously. If anything, maybe it'll wake 'em up (one can dream).
And to those who say EA didn't ruin any lives with their practices, well, most Bioware fans CLEARLY feel differently. And Bioware fans have demonstrated over the past few months that they know better than the rest of us.

There are people that don't understand how to have fun on every site. It seems a lot of people are butthurt that a company they don't know won.

For the record, it's not that I believe the award itself will change anything or that it even really matters. It's that people are more upset about being gouged for a **luxury item** than they are about these other companies dirty practices. It's a much more shameful indictment of our society than it is the company itself and that is extremely infuriating!

I did consider that Bank of America has surely affected many more people in far more damaging ways than EA ever has and ever will, but EA was the only game publisher in the entire competition among a handfull of other banks and crappy companies. In the end it's nice to see EA get some mainstream negative press that all of the other companies on that list get day in and day out even if EA's crimes aren't quite as grotesque. Now it's a little more possible that the millions of Madden and The Sims players that don't check gaming blogs 3 times a day might know what EA is capable of.
I had to buy a online pass for Madden 12, didnt know it didn't come with the game used. That ten dollars buck my bank account into the negative, and when my mortgage came out, it bounced the check. I had to move out of my house, and now I am homeless, and can't even play Madden. Had to live in my car, but it got repo'd because my bank closed my account because I couldn't pay the overdraft fees, and now my kids and I are living in a homeless shelter. Thanks EA.

I'm pretty sure nobody here will deny that EA's business practices don't come close to being as bad as the majority of companies on this list. However, it's a good thing they won. The public already knows that all those other companies are evil, they don't need a silly poll to reaffirm that. What makes this significant is that EA is finally getting called out on their shit in a way that the public will notice.

EA winning this is a lot smarter and correct than people think it is. Chances of BoA caring about it is zero. They got their second Silver Poo in a row, it doesn`t change a thing, like Republicans winning in Texas. EA does care, they need to care (remember, their business is not essential), they`ve proven they care. As certainly do Ubisoft, Activision and Capcom out there.

Worst gaming company? Ehhhh, in the top 10 at least. Capcom, Activision and Ubisoft have been guilty of more bullshit than EA if you ask me.

BofA concocts plans to rig global interest rates. It bankrupts their clients by lying to them about the quality of their derivative packages (helped by the wonderful credit ratings agencies). It takes out insurance on these products, knowing full well they're full of shit, and it then bankrupts the insurers as well. They foreclose and ransack homes illegally that shouldn't be foreclosed upon. They hassle and intimidate people for their debts, even after they've filed for bankruptcy or have even paid the debts off already. They even try to find ways to take out fees on people's unemployment checks.
But because EA charges $10 to let you play your games online, it is surely the viceroy of all that is wrong and unjust -- the magnate of misery, fueled by the tears of battered wives and stillborn children.

I think you should take your own advice... because I have no idea what you're implying here. Publishers generally rush games out before they are done, because they care about money moreso, whereas devs care about the quality of their game.

Once again, another reason why popular vote on the Internet should not decide anything, ever. EA might be deserving of being on the list of "bad" companies, but to be voted number one just shows me that there are more gamers in the pool of voters than represent the populous at large.
And even if it were a random sampling of people, a hypothetical company that called a half a million people stupid would "win" this award over a different hypothetical company that murdered ten people. Just because more people think the company is bad doesn't mean said company is the worst.

Damn posting system really needs an update as I retried because even after refreshing after going back I still didn't find my post so It seems I got a tripple post.
EA deserves this bit of terrible press for reasons other than DLC and bad endings. I realize the whole Mass Effect 3 thing is still fresh in everyone's minds but it is only the most recent issue. No one will argue that Bank of America is evil and has ruined lives, but so has EA (only with little to no coverage). They have purchased and dissolved many of the most iconic PC game developers in gaming history. Those closures translate to lost jobs and the bastardization of long lasting franchises. They have a long standing record of treating their employees like garbage, so much so that their workers attempted a class action lawsuit. Their customer support is equally atrocious.

Capcom should of won for their nickel and diming of us. e.g. Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, Street Fighter IV and its versions(Super, Super Arcade, X Tekken), Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and above all its ridiculously priced dlc. I mean game features and characters on the disk is just wrong.
