Is it just me, or is EA becoming more and more like Apple every day? Anti-consumer business practices. Price gouging. Controlled ecosystems. Homogenization.

You can't copyright mechanics but you can copyright the expression of mechanics. Zynga's games are very obviously rip-offs of other titles right down to their appearance. The entire company has made billions of dollars for years profiting off bored idiots with too much money and preying on lesser known companies (like the Tiny Towers guys) who can't defend themselves.

I am not a suporter of either company. but if it takes ea to deliver the knock out blow to zynga then more power to them.

The part where they plan to sell chinese and mexican frozen food aiming mass market using chef Gusteau's name totally brought EA to my head.
Of course mass market exists and is waiting to be exploited. But EA routinely buys unique ideas/studios/individuals to turn them into mere expendable cash cows. Innovation in this industry is hitting new lows every month.

Your analogy is not sound, Jim. With the two pedos in a fist-fight, everyone else wins. With this lawsuit, regardless of the victor, the general population will still have to deal with the loser.
