EA responds to 'bankrupt strategy' comments photo

A few days ago, former EA executive Mitch Lasky wrote a scathing blog about Electronic Arts' business practices and what he called a "bankrupt strategy." While EA declined to issue an official response, communications head Jeff Brown has responded in an interview, claiming that Lasky is just bitter because he never became EA's CEO.

"Mitch needs to try de-caf," mocks Brown. "It’s never easy being turned down for a job, but most people don’t spend three years obsessing about it. Since Mitch left EA, Apple invented the iPhone, Facebook evolved to include a gaming platform and EAMobile became the world leader."

Wow, quite the catty response from EA. Not exactly a shot above the belt, but you have to give a golf clap for the merciless burn. Still, no amount of mockery can detract from the fact that EA is not the moneyspinner it once was, and while the publisher focuses on critics and blaming the Wii, things aren't getting fixed.

The top speed of his car and whether he showers every day or not are irrelevant. What about Lasky's criticisms, Brown old boy? t/f?

Wow, EA, little bit a harsh response eh?

I honestly don't think EA is going to recoup their losses, of which I hope I'm REALLY REALLY wrong. If the guy, what was his name? He worked to help launch the 360, he was really cool, had the fake tattoo of the release date for Halo 2? Yeah, if he leaves that company, you know that something is really wrong...

But the Madden franchise is a fucking gold mine that ALWAYS makes craploads of money ever year. How is this possible?

I admit I don't really understand most of the financial terms used by Lasky in his article. The fact that a former senior executive of the company thinks EA is in a bad spot is kinda worrying. Brown's answer is more of a flame directed at Lasky than hard facts ($$$) showing EA's still doing not so bad, that's also worrying.

@ Chronic Logic:

Madden didn't do as well this year, the overall sales from last year were down, at least from reports a few months back.

We'll have to see on Madden 2011 does, but I think it reached it's peak.

@ Toadofsky

The problem is that once you've played one football game you've pretty much played them all...especially now that the game has reached a level where each interation doesn't offer anything new outside of maybe a couple features and roster updates.

Me, I haven't touched a football game since Gameday '99. Yeah, been a while for me and I have no intention of getting a Madden game any time soon. Not worth the money when I can get a unique experience in an Uncharted 2 or something.

y'know i can't help but think that madden should start relying on DLC... instead of making a "new" game each year, just offer up DLC to update the rosters and such... wait a few years to actually release a new game...

But then this is EA we are talking about...

But didn't FIFA break some world record? That's where I get confused.

I've always liked EA even when they were being villified so I hope they come up with some new strategy.

You mean EA is having trouble making money and is dancing around the central reasons why that is so? I would have never guessed. Nope. Not at all.

i imagine this guy as stereotypical cigar-munching CEO. something like a villan out of captain planet, critizing EA for their recent addition of a soul and making art instead of monopolizing the business.

Jeff Brown is not EA. When Jeff Brown speaks, he does so on behalf of Jeff Brown, not on behalf of a huge company with thousands of employees. Just as when Jim Sterling says something, it is not Destructoid saying it. Jeff Brown saying something just means that Jeff Brown said something. Nothing more, nothing less.

...Jeff Brown.

Every one always wants to side with the little guy who speaks against the big bad corporations, but sometimes the corporations simply aren't in the wrong.

Anytime an ex employee talks bad, you can usually assume it's one of those "blame everyone else for why I'm not good enough" people. Not that I have any idea here, just usually the case.
At least it made for a couple seconds of entertainment.

Toronto Escorts Online dating
Online dating is the last place I thought I would spend the past Friday,

But the absence of society, the absence of members without the company ¨C not really left me no choice but to try to find this love and emotional waves of the network and between the bar chairs.

I admit that I have ever imagined I would be an active participant or even addicted to the dating site, but excited to know where the roads are so easily is very difficult to withdraw or give up once you start, do not have to leave the house to get bids beautiful girl! Instead of wasting time on empty Personals spend money on drinks for girls at the bar, I¡¯m looking for someone exciting and special order a romantic dinner ¡.

Just before I intended to abandon the computer for the pillow, around four in the morning, of all Hflrtotim nonsense, I suddenly jumped joins a picture of a new, ¡°fresh meat¡± market site, her name was Cathy.

All I could see the little picture she volunteered was straight black hair and long long way I like shiny brown eyes. There was something in this picture that drew me to this mysterious figure. I had no hesitation and with confidence I have acquired the right site, I wrote a similar request Welcome to the site, hoping that the message and my picture she likes.

Us, Dating site also provides warm beds and not just warm hearts, but there was something that Mrs. Kati, sparked something inside me, my stomach turned over when her picture came up, and deep in my heart I was hoping she would respond to the message. Unfortunately there was no response and dawn had already occurred, but I spent the time ¨C on Friday I made one of three dates later this week! Still, the Dating Dating should create new and varied!
Saturday morning came, and went to my favorite coffee and sit and work comfortably, I freelance graphic designer who works from home or rather from coffee ¡ As long as money flows in abundance and who called to complain ¨C Today is another ordinary day of work.

As I sit at the table instead of my usual my usual, I ran into the mirror leaped from Libby, long hair ¨C long, black girl with an apron leaning on the bar, I waited impatiently for her turn around ¨C I know all the waitresses there, but it had never seen ¡

I waited patiently for her turn around so I could stare directly at her, and saw some wonder, as I deal with my laptop, I lift my head only to see those gorgeous brown eyes ¨C I was not mistaken, that Kati! Last night! Kati Kati right here! What do I do now?? This question has been resolved fairly quickly that excitement I poured myself a glass of water the mine and wanted to get me napkins ¨C of course I felt like a jerk in the extreme, but more than anything ¨C I was speechless! I did not know what to say to this beautiful girl and all I could do is ask for white coffee ¨C Who would have thought? Site haunting me to introduce here! Maybe it¡¯s a sign?? I was so confused and did not even notice I panicked at the table while I, Kati sweet recognized me from last night and said nothing, just smiled to herself and went to work.

I tried to ignore her bright hair blowing a fan across the beautiful cafe, but could not. Libby secretly saw her glossy hair spilled on my bed and light caressing him shine up this morning just amazing. Only the sound of her voice asking if everything was okay woke me waking dreams, ¡°All right¡± I told her everything is fine ¡
About right, I muttered to myself ¡.

More coffee and a croissant over eat, while rejecting outright the three recent suggestions for lunch just to get the cafe until she finishes her shift, I was hoping something would make me her message of last night will make her a picture of Dating sites which slipped a few hours.

When I calmly worked my head to look at her, she was not there. His eyes darted along all the little cafe she was gone! Her shift was over and with it my hope vanished, at least for today.

As I packed my bag, a waiter approached me and kindly called era, one of the regulars there. ¡°Say, did not you tell me your name was recently giving?¡±

I said, I said ¡°I responded sharply,¡± My name is still giving! Why?
Kati, one of the waitresses left you a note, she pointed at you but on this note written in packed ¡..

Let me see ¡°I pretended indifference and snatched the note from his hand, packed That¡¯s my name on the network, dating site! Kati beauty recognized me! I could hardly open the paper with excitement, his face was written in a gentle and sweet¡± Hi Erez, I had to shift and I had answer you in the morning ¡.. meet today introduced ten that site?

Needless to say I was ten o¡¯clock at night on the site, waiting for her expectantly. And today, after ten years of marriage, I¡¯m still waiting for her waiting all day and still get excited every time I see her bright hair blowing him at an amazing lightning.

I will respect that only because BioWare is one of my favorite producers.
And they're already making Dragon Age for the PS3, i think they are only trying out the Sony console, that's why the prodigal son is still a 360 exclusive. Gambling Addiction
