EA has not forgotten about the Medal of Honor franchise photo

Hey, remember Medal of Honor? It was that other World War II game that people loved so much. The last we heard of the series was in 2007 with Medal of Honor: Airborne and Medal of Honor: Heroes 2. All in all, there were over a dozen Medal of Honor games before the series just disappeared.

We've heard that the franchise might be making a return and EA Games label head Frank Gibeau teased during today's conference call that a "revitalization" of the Medal of Honor series is indeed coming. Frank didn't provide any other details, but it's believed the new game will be out in 2010 along with Criterion's Need For Speed.

Hopefully, "revitalization" means the Medal of Honor series will now have a modern day setting. Or even better, some kind of future setting. Anything is better than another World War II themed game.

I'm still bitter that Medal of Honor drove itself to the brink of extinction. Allied Assault is still one of my favorite games! Bring it back with style EA, bring it back!

Just set it in during another war or theatre, it doesn't have to be modern day.

I really think we haven't had a GOOD WW2 shooter since COD2, or maybe airbourne... A GOOD WW2 game would be nice... A new remake of Allied Assault would be epic.

I was never a fan of the MoH series anyway, because the one I played didn't let me invert my Y axis. Couldn't play it.

Man I loved Airborne. I hope they come back with something good. It was always good to have the COD and MOH games, it was like brother games. They balanced well and always offered different game play experiences.

Allied Assault was shit tons better than CoD. I remember coming into LAN party one day seeing them playing CoD and I'm like "Oh shit. Is that a new MoH expansion? I haven't seen that map before." It turned out to be the same game except shittier and with prone position.

Umm for those who are talking about Allied assault...you all DO know that the devs behind that came to be Infinity Ward correct? there's your explanation for why it was good.

MoH:AA was the precursor to CoD.

@ Laurence Silva,

If what you say is true, and Allied Assault is good because Call of Duty is good (notice I'm stressing how that's kinda illogical).. then why is Men of Valor a piece of piss?

Some of the lead designers went on to form Infinity Ward, that is true. But not all of them.

I remember a few years back my parents let us pick whatever games we wanted for Christmas. We could each pick one. I picked Warcraft III (collectors edition suckas!) and my brother picked Medal of Honor. It was Christmas day, he fired it up and started playing, and then my mother realized it was a shooting game. She whisked away the disc and deleted the game, and we never saw it again. Pretty much my brother got screwed out of Christmas (but I got to keep Warcraft III, so...tough luck?)
Oh yeah, um...from the five seconds I saw it looked cool.

You know, I just signed up to tell you that you're asshole.
If you don't like WWII - STFU and play you shitty Modern Crapware with regeneration and the other scheiße. Get your hands crippled with gamepad off from the MOH!

This was/is a great franchise. Make no mistake about it. A series reboot may be needed but COD needed the same at one point and look at it now. If EA really takes it seriously then I'm sure they could make a product that we could be happy with. I like the idea of an AA remake but I don't think that would do the job. We're coming on 2010...no more WWII shooters please.

How about just focusing on making the game GOOD. Airborne was such an awful game. Since when did the Germans have super soldiers that took 3 bullets to the head and carried MG42s? Since when did Hitler have a huge Anti-Air Castle tower build in Germany? And what American General would approve of an Airborne assault on said AA Castle tower? That's just stupid.

Contemporary settings are already stale, nukes in the middle east? terrorists plotting unspeakable horrors on U.S soil? OH NOES! not only has it been done, but if you turn on your TV its still *on-going* making entertainment out of current events feels cheap to me.

I'm buying MW2 next week :p

My point is, YES do alternative conflicts. Preferably one that hasn't been covered in the last 5 MINUTES!

I'm buying MAG too :/

Allied Assault is one of the best WW2 shooters of all time, so I'd hate to see Medal of Honor disappear.
