You seem to be ignoring the fact that ME3 sold like hotcakes. Ditto with BF3 and MW3, perhaps the most notorious DLC sellers. It's almost like the price is in line with -demand- or something crazy like that...
Don't get me wrong. I think the console market needs to become more flexible like the PC market. However, some games are just in high demand. Even on the PC, we have games like Starcraft 2, which just refuse to go down in price.
They dont even have debit cards? Im sorry but how does anyone beyond the age of 12 not have that.
The demographic for gamers averages from 25 to your 30's and this guy has the balls to say they don't have credit cards? I just can't believe that.
These are excuses for the failure of Origin which are retarded when held up directly against Steam. Don't blame Sony for your inability to leverage your own assets to bolster your service. It's your issue, no one else's.
Right off the bat he's lying saying it was "Anonymous", they really do love giving people labels in America. I'm surprised they are not "terorists" as well, attacking America's internet freedom.
Is there any evidence to back this up, or is t just post hoc bullshit?
So get a credit card and live!
rumble grumble.
Well, at least they're honest about the true nature of day 1 DLC.
When psn got hacked I simply cancelled my card and got a new one.
EA just Doesn't understand anyways. Why would I want to buy a digital version of their game at full price when I can get it for cheaper at amazon or gamestop?
The other issue, especially with next gen consoles being discussed is whether we will retain access to previously purchased digital content. If I buy ME on PSN will I still be able to play the game on my PS4? Maybe I'm better to just buy the disc version and still be able to sell it for a few dollars.
The only EA game I've bought recently was BF3, because I'm a Dice/BF fan.
These EA big wigs think they can make lightning strike twice with Bioware games after the whole ME3 & DA2 bullshit. Once Bioware fucking fails I'll laugh when I see the domino effect. EA will be grasping onto it's sport games and shooters as the other IPs decay and turn to shit.
Same goes for Activision. Same goes for Capcom.
What else does Activision have once CoD gets dethroned or once the fans get bored? Their marval games? Or are they gonna play necro and try to bring back guitar hero...
Pretty sure its still goin strong...
Anybody around here ever wanted to buy a console game digitally but bought retail instead? Did you do it because a)the PSN hack or b) the game's still selling for $60 on PSN a year after release while it can easily be found for $20 brand new at retail?
Yeah, that's what I thought.
I'm pretty sure that what he means when he says the have forgotten how to be competitive is that they have forgotten how to make digital products compete with physical ones. It seems you are suggesting that because physical copies of games like BF3 and ME3 are selling well, it means that the company understands how to make the digital version competitive (while they simultaneously bitch about how the digital versions aren't selling as well). That just seems completely nonsensical.
In response to the article: I currently participate in the used market. Buying a digital product often means I have to pay full price and can't sell the game back if I'm not satisfied or need the cash for a new release. Therefore, I do not often buy digital copies of games that have a physical alternative. Though, if they understood this, it would probably lead to more "USED GAMES ARE BAD FOR EVERYONE, GUYS!" comments from publishers. Though, I think I might prefer more of that than the utter retardation that is the "they must not have credit cards" approach.
as for the 60 to 80 crap i like to say fuck you just make the game 80 and include all the damn dlc and then i will still wait for it to drop to 20 and in the case of mass effect 30 to buy it. on the topic of dlc why the hell does dlc price never seem to fucking drop?
P.S. kill origin fire and just go back to steam plz
Also my bro raised a good question. These digital downloads come with the online pass right? If I bought BF3 digitally for $60 I would get access to the online right?
I'm speaking about Micro$oft and Sony when saying:
NO ONE WANTS TO PAY $20 FOR A 3 YEAR OLD GAME THAT THEY CAN A PHYSICAL COPY FOR UNDER $10 USED AT GAMESTOP. Dear god.
As for EA, we don't like you or what you have to offer digitally. Especially on PC.
