E3 will have PC games, well duh photo
     STOOPID!

A recent rumor has been making the Internet rounds stating that this year’s E3 would be all but bereft of anything that wasn’t played on a console. Obviously, this isn’t the case, and was erroneously concocted when Microsoft stated that they would not be focusing on PC games at E3 after holding the Games for Windows conference last month. Processor manufacturer Intel also mentioned that they would be skipping this year’s show.

It seems that some people were quick to take this as news of no PC games being at E3 whatsoever, but hey, what about all the third party developers? Did they mysteriously disappear into the night? Big Download’s John Callaham clearly realized this too, as he pointes out the abundance of titles we can expect to see at the trade show next week.

“Again the Games for Windows Event this week had five games that won't be released before E3 begins (Civilization IV: Colonization, Call of Duty: World at War, Bionic Commando, Ghostbusters and Space Siege). E3 2008 will have those same five games plus a ton more titles. A number of publishers are scheduled to show a lot of PC only games at the show such as Electronic Arts (Crysis Warhead, Spore, Warhammer Online), THQ (Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II) Codemasters (Jumpgate Evolution) Sega (Empire: Total War) and Deep Silver (STALKER Clear Sky). UK based Jagex is scheduled to show off for the first time their next generation version of their hugely popular free MMO Runescape at the show.”

“And let's not forget the boatload of multi-platform games at E3, many of which will have the PC as either the lead or best platform for the title. Left 4 Dead, Fallout 3, Dark Void, Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3, Dead Space, This is Vegas, Saint's Row 2, Far Cry 2, Red Faction: Guerrilla, Borderlands, Brothers In Arms: Hell's Highway, The Agency, Project Origin . . . we could go on and on. And of course these are the games that we know about. There are certainly bound to be some surprise game announcements at the event.”

So yeah, PC games won’t be leaving E3 anytime soon, but then I doubt many people actually believed that they would. Are you looking forward to hearing more about any of the games in this huge list of titles? And please, don’t say Runescape.

Lets see,

Left 4 Dead, Red Alert 3 and of course anything Half Life related. Diablo 3 stuff would be nice as well, but I doubt it since Vivendi/Blizzard won't be there.

@Technophile

The episode 3 of Half Life was a rumor that was disproved, they are only going to be close to done in November, 2009. So you have to wait until next E3.

Left 4 Dead, Fallout 3, Borderlands, Dragon Age and The Crossing. Hopefully we'll see some actual in-depth gameplay footage of these.

Runescape actually isn't that bad. That said, it is not good.
