Guess I'm not buying it day 1 then. By the time the black version comes out (2 years at least lol) there should be some games out that actually interest me.

Not yet. But Nintendo did say they would not reveal price or release date at E3. They wanted E3 to be about the system and games ... with attention shifting to price and date later. I expect we will hear about this in September. My guess. :)

God fucking damnit, Nintendo. Always with the launch white and much later black. Couldn't they do both? The 3DS had two color options at launch(sure it was a retarded blue as opposed to white but still).
The black Wii U looks awesome until you touch it. Then your fingerprints will be staring at you for the rest of time.
I consider that statement to mean "We have no plans of releasing the black one until sales of the Wii U start to drop, but I'll give a cryptic statement to cause more speculation to get people talking more."
At least it's not lunch box purple. And the N64 launched black and everybody wanted a different color. By the end it came in Skittles.

Launch them both at the same time and package them with a White or Black 3DS and include both Pokemone Black/White 1 & 2.

Not so fast... Charlie Scibetta (Senior Director of Corporate Communications for Nintendo) told GameTrailers that they haven't confirmed white, black or any other color for launch. They are showing both at the show and people seem to really like both.
Probably they won't want to launch both black and white because it'll double the number of SKUs they need to have available, not to mention the inevitable hassle of white consoles not being able to find enough white peripherals, and the same for black consoles.
Just finding peripherals in general was a hassle at Wii launch. Took me months to get a full set of Remotes. Double the SKUs available with two colour versions and you're just looking for a hassle.
