With Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo press conferences done and dusted, we ask you the most important question of all; Who won?
Every year the big three pull out all the stops in an attempt to capture our hearts, minds and wallets for the next twelve months. While the Destructoid staff here at E3 have already started our discussion, we want to know what you guys think; Who won E3 2011 -- Microsoft, Sony or Nintendo?
That is the question!

WiiU looks really interesting, and there's promise of a great launch lineup.
Also NEW SMASH BROTHERS
Nintendo also had great moments about the 3DS announcements and what else they shoehorned into Starfox 3D. And then we had a look (a brief first look) at Wii U. Awful rubbish name. But the tech and cross-backwards compatability with the 3DS and original Wii (possibly GameCube) titles may need to be watched from afar. It WAS disappointing about the Wii reveal, but nowhere near as bad as the Kinect last year.
And ms....lets not even go there...
i can see a lot of people feel Nintendo won but to be honest i have 0 interest in this new console, i divorced Nintendo a few years ago so it will take a lot more than core multiplatform titles to get me interest
and Xbox was by far the worst, as a investor i would probably be thrilled with all this shovelware for kids that will be suckered in this xmas but as a gamer it was a fail, not a fan of halo so there was no surprises for me
I kind of feel like Sony and Nintendo tied. Sony needed another high profile game announcement or two to put them over the top, and Nintendo needed to show an internally developed Nintendo title for WiiU. Both were interesting and had good points though.

Plus the controller is just a giant DS with the t.v. being the top screen. Still looks great and I'm excited to actually see something.
Microsoft was last for sure, but I give the edge to Sony for winning over Nintendo.
I think Sony won, though by default.
Microsoft just focused too heavily on Kinect "FUN FOR ALL THE FAMILY" rubbish and non-videogame shit. Non-Kinect announcements were thin on the ground and only held the spotlight for a minute at best. Tomb Raider looks nice, but it's multiplatform.
Sony was pretty boring, not going to lie. I liked the idea behind their new 3DTV; two people can see two different images, getting around any size issues with splitscreen. Shadow Of The Colossus HD at last, and the Vita seems like it's headed for a good strong start when it launches. Not very many new games or anything, though.
Nintendo was disappointing. Very disappointing. They started well with all the Zelda news (took a bit of bump at "Zelda Four Swords on DSiWare" -- why not 3DSWare?), really got things going with their first-party 3DS offerings (LUIGI'S MANSION 2 FUCK YESSSSSS), and then...threw it all away to flaunt their new console's controller as a Wii peripheral. No information about the new console, no details on first party support on the new console, hell we barely even saw the fucking thing. Complete and utter disappointment. Third party support was weak, too; most of what they showed would be launching on the opposition well before the Wii U gets it.
The name Wii U also bugs me far too much, but I'll learn to live with it.
The smaller third parties whose games I really care about tend to announce stuff on their own time anyway.
Nintendo a close 2nd
And Microsoft dead last
Of course all the Nintendo fanboys ate it right up, but to me it just looks like the Wii round 2. People will be excited for it, buy it in record numbers, and then lament while it gathers dust.
I kept waiting for them to announce a new IP or a strong third party exclusive, and they had NONE. In my opinion this was a huge failure on their part.
If I had to choose a winner I would have to go with Sony, simply on the merit that the PS Vita looks like a strong competitor to the 3DS. Not only is it at a similar price point, it actually has games, and it brings something new to the table.

2nd would be MS thanks to great showcase of Kinect.
Sony, ugh if it wasn't a Vita it would be one of the worst conferences we've seen on E3 in last 2-3 years(and yes i count Nintendos wii music conference). with Vita it's just average.
That 30 seconds of a Halo 4 teaser doesn't justify the horrible torture that was endured. Unless you happen to really like Disneyland adventure and Kinect sports...
Sony in second place, predictable, boring and solid.
Microsoft, ohh dear ...Star Wars Kinect!?! seriously? on rails crap.
Also Jack Tretton wins for most likable.
As far as software goes, I think 3rd party developers are finally showing what gameplay enhancements can be added to games thanks to Kinect. Controlling your squadmates in Mass Effect 3 without a headset will be pretty cool. Manipulating and building guns in Ghost Recon will also be pretty awesome (although testing them looked lame). Whether or not more developers embrace what Kinect can ADD to a game, and not what it can be used exclusively for, will be the true sign MS was on to something with their hardware add-on.
As someone whose Kinect has been gathering dust awaiting the likes of Child of Eden and The Gunstringer (FUCK YOU! for going full-retail you son of a bitch!), seeing games I was already interested in being enhanced by Kinect (something I've been waiting to happen all along) is more than welcome.
An enhanced version of Halo 1 and a new Halo 4 was sort of expected. I'm not a huge enough fan to be overly excited by those announcements, as meager as they were.
As for Sony, the PS Vita blew me away. Not only is it powerful as hell AND offers a ton of unique features, but the price point is deliciously tempting. I am blown away Sony seems to have actually priced the thing within reason. I was also turned on by the solid software support it looks to have right out the gate AND the fact it will offer experiences that allow me to play with PS3 players.
As for Nintendo, while they offered a ton of 3DS software, nothing had a concrete date (saves them from committing to it when they can delay delay delay otherwise). That is bullshit.
Also, I tried the 3DS for fifteen minutes one time and got annoyed at A) the headache it induced and B) the fact moving ever so slightly out of perfect range caused the 3D effect to disappear. Including control options that REQUIRE you to move the system seems counter-intuitive to me (*ahem* StarFox). I have yet to see a reason to purchase such a machine despite its solid first-party software support, which I'm sure is a boon to game-hungry 3DS owners.
The WiiU was... um... I'll have to wait and see. Didn't really blow my mind as much as I thought it would. It's like one big AR machine that can become a streaming handheld. That's what people want nowadays? Call me out of touch then.
The software support from 3rd parties is cool, but I already have an Xbox and a PS3 capable of playing the likes of Battlefield 3, Ghost Recon, Darksiders 2, and Arkham City. what will the WiiU actually bring to those experiences that will make me prefer them over the consoles I already shelled out money for? And don't give me gimmicks, either. Give me substantial enhancements. The lack of a release date and price hurt, too. Speculation does not make me interested. it makes me skeptical.
Also, cool Smash shout out, but come on. Give us more than a sentence or two, you ass hats. No concrete Nintendo software announced was weird, too.
Overall, Microsoft actually interested me the most software-wise with everything they are bringing to a console I already own. Sony interested me the most by making me want a brand new piece of hardware. Nintendo left me scratching my head as to what the fuck they are actually capable of with the WiiU and how it is going to prove beneficial to my game playing enough to warrant a whole new console purchase.
Software: MS
Hardware: Sony
Color me intrigued but not ecstatic about the possibilities: Nintendo
anyway, hands down nintendo won this. Microsoft had a TERRIBLE conference with nothing of merit for me (dislike Halo and Gears)
Sony had good content but was just meh presentation wise, didnt really surprise me.
Nintendo won me out of the gate when They started with Zelda, but the showcase of HD zelda was enough to make me squeal in joy, and cross platform play for 3DS and Wii U smash bros was incredible
If I had to pick one though? Sony probably.
Sony: Psvita is a great device with a really good price, unfortunately theres not much for me.
Nintendo: I think that the console and the controller (I hope that at this moment everybody has realized that the tablet/control is not the whole WiiU) has a lot of potential, unfortunately as the same as Vita theres not much for me.
So I think that nobody won the E3 and that @asskickula resumed very well my thought with his last statement "he focus should have been games here and it was very little."
The Wii U looks to me as if they drew up a list a of ideas for their console, couldn't decide what was best and then did all of them at once.
(1) Sony - bad start followed by strong finish. The PS Vita (price reveal and games showed) saved the conference from being ruined by talk of 3D and PS Move.
(2) Nintendo - Obviously they have the most buzz since they are coming up with a new console with a new concept for a controller, but the rest of us common folk will not get to touch this thing until 2012. What's to look forward to this fall? One new Zelda game for the Wii? Also, they only showed 5 games for the 3DS all of which were continuations of existing franchises. That's not much to be excited for.
(3) Microsoft - Its kind of sad that the only thing I got excited for during the Microsoft conference was the TV service they plan to integrate into Xbox Live. But they were scant on the details (how will it work, what channels will I be able to view, will I finally be able to cut my basic cable subscription). All I know is that something is coming. All those Kinect kiddie games demoed pretty much ruined the conference for me.
