E3: Tabula Rasa pyrotechnics show

7:04 AM on 05.12.2006   |   Niero

NCSoft knows how to make an impression. Their new game is Tabula Rasa, a massive multiplayer online game similar to World of Warcraft set in a Starcraft like world. Ok so the game is a little derivative, and unfortunately I felt that it looked like a five year old Tribes 2 mod pumped into 720p. More ill words spoken after the jump >> Check it out for yourself and let me know if I'm completely off, but I was more impressed with their human presentation than their product. Their E3 performance must have cost them a fortune, but 3 million players sending their rival Blizzard $15/month for playing WOW - well, do the math and you could see why they went all out to get our attention! Their massive booth had playable demos, elaborate decorations, pyrotechnics, and half naked men and women throwing things at each other and swallowing things that should not be consumed. Naturally, this made a little homesick. I'm not exactly sure what specific thing I'm insinuating there either, let's um, keep it moving, um, yeah. (awkward silence) Boy, the smog in LA is delicious!
