This is a neat concept, just think I'm a bit too old for this. But in the case of crackedbat, apparently he forgot we once put cassettes in teddy bears because reading is really, really hard. Everyone complains about how short attention spans are nowadays but something like this could get really small children into books. Why do you think Leapbooks sell, the frog?

I used to own a Teddy Ruxpin bitch! And you're right, this could get kids into books. Nothing encourages reading like looking at the pictures on a television screen. Eventually kids will realize that you don't need to actually read the book to make the pictures appear.

God this was a painful segment. Another Sony product that will come out in the fall, and be forgotten by Sony by the spring.
I was enjoying the conference so much and then this happened...had to put it on mute and wander off till it ended, came back strong afterwards but jeez nearly killed the entire conference for me.

Cool concept. Worst possible way to reveal it. This is not the convention for that sort of peripheral. Sony's systems need games, not more avenues by which to release content. They don't have enough content for the systems they've already released, and the promise of implementing features without guaranteed support is like trying to shoot themselves in the foot, forgetting that the foot is attached to a phantom limb. Game convention needs games. Book convention needs books.
Another way for kids to interact with literature? Cool, I would much rather have my kids casting Harry Potter spells than getting teabagged in Halo or being bored to tears with a bad licensed game about iCarly.

This type of stuff isn't what E3 is about. The people with their eyes glued to these confrences want real games. This is great for kids but it has no place in a hyped up convention like E3.

OMG I wanted to bash my head against the wall, during that shit. I don't give a crap that they're doing it, OK fine, good for you. But did they really need to spend all that time on it? WonderBook, its was more like BlunderBook. Sony should just stick to copying Nintendo, because obviously they can't come up with a good idea on they're own anymore!
E3 is not just about showing off to us, it's about stock holders and moving product so of COURSE they have to appeal to the family side. Sure I had no interest in this at all but I understand what they did this, have to get in those family and casuals somewhat.
Either way so far Ubisoft and Sony so far is top up there with E3. With EA and 360 being behind on who gets last there.

I agree with Raukue. E3 isn't really going to be geared toward the enthusiast anymore, they have the enthusiasts already.
I know Sony needs to do more to capture some of that family market share MSoft has been enjoying, but saying you have to buy not one, but two, peripherals to do so? That's just not how you go about capturing a market you don't have a strong base with.

So buy your kids better games. There are plenty of titles out there that are perfect for kids of all ages that don't fall into the crap licensed property category.

It's was a nice idea, but they really dragged out that segment past and it became dull. Plus the recent Spirit Camera showed this concept can be really problematic.
But yeah, books are for building imagination, not stealing from it. Even with a comic book you have to imagine motion, sound and voice.

The moment they started talking about the move I immediately lowered the volume and went to some game forums to chat. I also ended up joining late so I only saw some mutliplats, god of war and last of us, so fail conference?
I actually thought that looked really fun, but then I got Harry Potter for the Wii and LOVED it. This might even make me get a Move! (I know, I can't even believe it myself.)

Looking forward to playing this with the little girl. Thought it looked interesting and worth checking out. The segment dragged on a bit long but whatever, looking forward to it.
It needs to be cheaper than the Move, or it won't sell. I mean, c'mon, Kindles go for like $99 these days.
