But did anyone really expect the vampire to complement every build? Werewolves never really did, it just makes sense that a hulking death machine wouldn't complement a stealth character.
Just like they fixed glitched Lydia marriages, no arrow crafting and the third person camera in every other Bethesda/Obsidian game ever.
Sure, your vampire lord may end up with a horse dick but I must say that I could never imagine playing any of these games on a console. The Mod community has become more dependable than the developers themselves.
I know that there are times that they just say "Fuck it. They will change it if they don't like it."
I'd like to see how a vampire Khajiit or Argonian look compared to vampire Redguards or Nords, not that drinking blood or eating raw flesh should be anything special for races based upon carnivorous creatures.
I'd also like to see if the Vampire Ladies get ridiculous perma-bras (nothing has every looked particularly terrifying in a bra. I say that having seen a hulking ex-con in drag giving out free bearhugs.)or do they let it all hang out like their male counterparts.
Okay, but more importantly, can you be a Vampire and a Werewolf?

This article killed all my anticipation for dawnguard.
Btw, the spells you use in a vampire lord form, are they destrucion?
Does my character keep her clothes on when she transforms? I enchanted for unlimited destruction.
Does a vampire lord have a different look based on gender/race?
Either way, I won't be buying this at 1600MS unless it's very good. Maybe in your next preview you could spend more time talking about the new area, a huge selling point of an Elder Scrolls game, rather than bitching about the forced third person perspective.
@Jammy dude
You raise a good point but I think a single preview at E3 isn't enough time to properly gauge things like quests or weapons. Some info about crossbows would have been nice though...
Plus I imagine the vampire form can regen health easier than a werewolf. The way mine worked out, my guy is actually more powerful as a human than lupine, so...yeah. That whole thing is kind of pointless for me, unless I just feel like going all Bark at the Moon on somebody's ass.
Which ya know, it happens.
What does it matter if he finished the game or not? Can't he tried the demo and say what he didn't like? It's not like he's on a lie rampage of fuck Bethesda mood...
Anyway if Beth fuck things they can always fix it no? Now we can attack from our pony, we couldn't when the game was first released.
Instead all I got was bitching about the third-person camera being forced when in Vampire Lord form and that mages might not want to be Vampire Lords.
I mean, I couldn't give two shits if you beat Skyrim or not, I was kind of expecting more than just bitching about the new vampire form.
Of course it doesn't appeal to all play styles - NO faction is supposed to. The Dawnguard is the alternative faction, which is a group of vampire hunters. Of course you're not going to use a map - you're a freaking DEMON.
This website is about as bad as gamespot - both put incompetent people in charge of bringing people news. Instead of reporting, this guy bitched about the thing. I'm sorry I stumbled upon this site - its quite useless.
Haha! Y'know when you put it like that, it really does make a lot more sense.
The site is alright, it's just that the quality of the writers varies greatly. There's ones to avoid and ones to pay attention to. In particular, seek out articles by Chad Concelmo, Chris Carter, and Dale North. There's other good ones too, those are just my personal top 3.
I'm not going to mention by name who to avoid, but you've clearly already spotted one of them. There's a couple more.
Just one of those things missed for not playing the game all that much.
As for not being able to drop into first person or use a map, transformations like this tend to have a daily time limit for how powerful they are. They're not meant to accommodate a build and have clear disadvantages to go with thier advantages. It's just another thing they do to add some variety and personalization to you character.
That said, I wish there was some coverage somewhere for the werewolf perk tree.
They could have at least acted like they care about the Volkihar vampire tribe instead of fucking up "the last Elder Scrolls game as we know it." even more. Werewolves used to be awesome, vampires used to be awesome, and most of all the magic used to be awesome. Don't believe me? Skyrim has 24 destruction spells available mostly for purchase. Oblivion had 74. Minus spellcrafting and you have worthless magic everything. Even enchanting which they touted as being brought back is bullshit since it was never lost, just the skill. One could still make epic enchantments in Oblivion which in turn improved another skill-mysticism. Now that acrobatics, athletics, and hand-to-hand are gone with very little to replace them if anything I can't play half of my previous playstyles. Punching things to death feels like a waste because there is no skill to improve. You can only run fast and jump high if you are a tall race like the Altmer. Lame. Now, Skyrim will go down in my book as the least developed Elder Scrolls game.
TLDR: Volkihar vampires, look them up.
