E3: Professor Layton and the Last Specter announced!

6:30 PM on 06.07.2011

Okay, this is confusing.

Just today, Nintendo announced a brand new game in the extraordinary Professor Layton series, Professor Layton and the Last Specter. But it is not for the 3DS. It's for the regular DS. And it's been out in Japan already for months. This was an announcement for the U.S. release of the game. The other new Layton for the 3DS is also already out in Japan, but this is not that. That sequel is coming to the U.S. sometime next year. This game is for the DS. But it's new for North America. Make sense? Whew!

Last Specter starts a new trilogy in the series, delving into how Luke and Professor Layton first met. Honestly, it could be about how Professor Layton and Luke paint a wall together and I would still be excited. I love this series.

Are you excited that Last Specter is officially coming to the U.S.? And will you still buy it even though it's for the regular DS?
