I bought a 3ds but rarely played it because I could not find anything good to play. I keep hoping to hear about a 3ds Animal Crossing but no luck so far. Maybe I should trade it in for a vita?
While I won't say this was the worst E3 ever (looks back at 2006) It's been pretty disappointing all around. It's like the exec's were looking at last year's release schedule or something.
@jodaniel3 i am actually impressed with the actual show, There are some great games on the floor playable from all companies.
@nightv I should have clarified, i meant the press conferences. Ubisoft somehow won best conference for me, but i just can't shake off all their DRM bull. But you're right that the show floor was where it's at. As for my favorite game, it's probably Castlevania mirror of fate.I'll probably get lynched for saying that, but if it's linear it's a win for me.
oh you mean the things selling so well because nothing else came out to play for like 2 months after launch, so everyone was forced to get those games to justify their purchases of a 3ds?
Those stats aren't that impressive when you really think about them:
80% of people have their Vita's connected to the internet -and I believe the Vita has a smaller install base. Take that how you will, but it makes Nintendo boasting about it a little silly. Even if the numbers actually even out at the end of it all, it still means Sony's gotten more people in their smaller base to want to be connected.
Those 1million plus downloads list was a huge joke when *all* of those downloads were free items or services that were either given away as a promotion, had a pay service attached to them (Only Netflix) or should have been included with the system in the first place. So, yeah, of course those were going to have over 1 million downloads: No one lost anything downloading them.
I'm a little back and forth with the 60million Nintendo video views.. Its good for them that it seems to be working, but without being able to pick a video from their back library of already scene videos, on an on demand basis, I find that they've actually hobbled what that number could have really been.
As for the metacritic comment, that didn't get a pic here.. Who should really care? Sure the games mentioned were great, but they didn't talk them (or any eShop games) up enough to bring more people to them.. The fact that those games were so highly rated, but none of them were on the 1million plus download slide, says a lot for what Nintendo should be doing: promoting more eShop games to get better sales.
