@Stijin: Ubisoft did an age retcon around about Double Agent. Since the timeline ran in real time with their releases, they shaved off 10 years because Sam would have been too old or some nonsense. It was more prominent in Conviction, since Sam had serving in the Gulf and not Vietnam.

This is one of my most anticipated games at E3. Conviction is extremely underrated. Just put the damn thing on PS3 dammit.

Seriously, Conviction was really good, it just wasn't a traditional Splinter Cell game. The story was decent, the action, controls and graphics were all solid and it had a lot to do.
Haven't been disappointed with a Splinter Cell game, but that might just be because I can handle change unlike a lot of gamers. Can't wait to see what's going on with this one.
So excited by this. I hope they add a little more emphasis on stealth and maybe bring back a few of the mechanics and modes for SCs of pas.
Playing through Ghost Recon FS put me in the mood for Conviction, so I've been replaying that. A new Splinter Cell and Rainbow Six have got me pretty excited for next year (or whenever SC is due out).
I'm actually hoping R6 is similar in execution to Ghost Recon FS game play.
