It's not on-rails, just seen the live gameplay demo on Spike TV. Its a normal FPS, that you move around with the sticks. It looked pretty cool too!
I'll be hones, I wasn't trilled with Nintendo's conference and the way they handled the Wii U; I was expecting more.
The other thing I believe contributed to the feeling was how they removed the 3DS/DS from it. Maybe they shouldn't have made 3 different events.
Now go and play those Wii U games! I need to know what you think on them, the controller, everything!
It's not. Here are some details:
One hit kills you
If you die, you respawn as a different person, and must kill your former self to get old equipment back.
No checkpoints or quicksaves.
No pausing for inventory management. Everything is realtime.
I guess it could be that the Wii U won't actually be released until after next year's E3, that's why they are waiting until next year's E3 to show off their games, but if that's the case, it seems like they should release the Wii U sooner than later. That Arkham City/Ninja Gaiden 3 port are going to look silly releasing for 60 dollar more than 3 years after they released on other consoles.
The 3DS could have really used more love, that I'll agree to. I'm expecting to be much more excited about that show tomorrow night, then I ended up being by this one.
As for Nintendo Land.. First off, smart move making the tech/tutorial games based on Nintendo's varied worlds, instead of just bland (albeit fun) sports games..
Second, and I hadn't thought this till now for some reason, Nintendo really does have enough of a basis to start a real theme park, and if they were in a better place fiscally, I wish they'd option that.. It was far too easy after seeing Nintendo Land, and hearing it talked about, to envision a place like Universal Studios, where each Nintendo shardworld got its own "island" or whatever, with rides and games and restaurants and stuff, themed after those world.. I'd kill to go to a Zelda world, or hit up Planet Zebes... Nintendo should really think about making that happen.
"The Nintendo Wii U is simply not for me, it is more like a little kids console. I was not exited about any of the games presented and the truth is that the wii u will have tough fight againts current generation consoles, when the new PS4 arrives it will simply have no chance."
Funny, if you replace Wii U with Wii and PS4 with PS3, you have an argument that many made seven years ago.
If they had skipped the third party port montage, super detailed explanation of Pac-Man Vs: Luigi's Mansion Edition, and the thing they did on Sunday it would have been like: Redesigned GamePad, Pro Controller, Ability to use 2 GamePads, MiiVerse, Social Features, Amazon/Netflix/Youtube, Wii Fit, NintendoLand, ScribbleNauts, New Super Mario Bros. U, Pikmin 3 *drop the mic*. People would have been amazed.
Just a pre-rendered trailer for the next Smash Bros. would have sent the roof off of that theatre.
Also, in ZombiU, your character can get bitten, and thus infected, killing off your character, but making you take over the perspective from another survivor. That's definitely new, for a zombie game. I'm cautiously optimistic.
But honestly, Ubisoft won E3 when they showed Rayman Legends.
Considering I usually only get 1-2 games at a console's launch anyways, I am ok with that.
We'll see if the 3DS event delivers any new IPs or heavy hitters.
Well they technically did have a new IP in SiNG, but yeah, a karaoke game isn't exactly exciting new IP. But its still new IP none-the-less. The crazy thing is they announced a new IP from Platinum Games right after the Press Conference in P-100. Plus who knows what they have planned for tonights round-table event.
Maybe I will some day, but seeing Nintendo play it so safe with NSMBU does not inspire me to buy in yet. I don't care to see Mario platformer titles be as stagnant as Pokemon, recycling the same art year in, year out.
That sounds like it has potential. If there's one good thing about a new control scheme, it's a new wario ware game, that and rabbids are about the only minigame compilations I like.
They haven't dropped the 3ds. It gets another separate show all to itself tomorrow.
Also, Am I the only one who noticed the PINK FLYING PIKMIN???
"...recycling the same art year in, year out..."
The art for the Wii U game was actually pretty different. It emulated famous paintings. One stage looked like a Van Gogh picture.
The gameplay...
Im sick of weasely little brats and their inexperienced and moronic conclusions about everything from a one hour presentation.
I wish i could be like chad and focus on the positive all the time, and when it comes to the actual games i play, I DO.
But interacting with gamers is an awful experience more and more, because most of you are clueless and hatefully so.
Nintendo's getting hate because Nintendo desperately NEEDED to show more new exciting things. All totaled, Sony and Nintendo probably displayed equal amounts of really interesting things (in my opinion) thanks in large part to UbiSoft, but Sony didn't need to convince me of the PS3 or the Vita. I own both already and I know what they're capable of, and they each have exclusives I enjoy. I was hoping Nintendo would sell me on the Wii U, but they chose to spend far too much time with dancing, exercise, and the theme park game.
wiifitU is actually a game (Compared to WiiFit)
Still not what should have been focused on here...
