Free or not, IE sucks. Honestly a browser for a console is kind of useless, I have only used my PS3's browser once and that was to put on youtube music videos during a party.
Internet Exploder 9 allows you to completely destroy your Xbox 360 through malicious scripts and code. You guys have missed the red rings, right? Well, now like never before, Microsoft leads the way in fitness! Woops, I meant failures!
I think they've been trying to rework IE to not be shit, but the thing is it's had this stigma of being absolutely terrible for so long I don't know if they can completely get rid of that image.

Sadly this was the highlight of their press conference, Microsoft just doesn't understand E3. In all actuality the only things I enjoyed were Tomb Raider(a multi-platform game) and Trey Parker's joke when him and Matt Stone were talking about The Stick of Truth.
apparently non of you used new Internet Explorer. and honestly if anyone says that Firefox is better than anything, never used an actual GOOD browser. newest IE is faster, uses less ram and isn't a damn clusterfuck of bugs like Firefox.

Whether or not I'll use it remains to be seen, but it certainly looks better than the PS3's laughable attempt.

If there was ever going to be an internet browser on the Xbox, why not use one that the parent company of Xbox already owns? Duh. It's Internet Explorer in name only. The UI is what will make or break it. The PS3 and Wii browsers suck ass. Hopefully this one is better.
I sure hope they accounted for all the malicous code designed to destroy Windows, which means it could just as easily destroy your 360.

confirmed... apparently gold subscription level is required to use a browser to access the internet... damn. Ah well... will have to stick with Sony's shitty free browser to watch CTV.ca shows.
I don't see any web programmers losing sleep over the new IE, so if they use the same guts it should be fine.
My problem is that it looks almost as if your *required* to have a tablet or smartphone to use something this basic -which will not only put out a lot of people who can't afford those things, but also begs the question: Why use IE on the 360, when you can use your tablet or phone to look crap up?
Also, I didn't think about it till these comments here... The "new" dash makes my 360 run *really* fucking slow (and sort of sketchy) a lot of the time.. I don't really think IE is going to make things better no matter how much I've been saying for years "How does a company with its own web brower, not have their browser in their console?"

I honestly feel a bit guilty when I start IE that one time when the PC's just been re-formated and just scroll past those enthusiastic messages about all the new cool shit IE can do now and into Google to download another browser.
By far the best part of the show was when they said "Internet Explorer" so many times that the feed crashed.
