Trolls will be trolls.
I'm pretty excited to play through the campaign again, but I'm disappointed if the MP is just a Reach map pack, and I was kind of hoping for 4-player split-screen.
Still, sounds awesome!
Everyone loves GoldenEye because they played it when they were 8-13 years old, and loved any game that let them kill people. At the time, it was fun, but have you played GoldenEye now? Compared to even the most mediocre dual-stick shooter it compares horribly. The gameplay is sluggish, clunky, and obsolete.
When Halo came out it got dual-stick shooting right, and anyone who argues against that is flat out wrong. I have fantastic memories of when GoldenEye game out because it was undeniably fun, but I have better memories of when Combat Evolved came out because the gameplay with a dual-stick setup was simply better. GoldenEye is not better than Combat Evolved.
Sir, I commend you on your tremendous balls. Prepare to be trolled, but seriously, I couldn't agree more (Let the record state that I DO love Goldeneye, though).
On topic, Halo: CE is also in my top five games of all time, DEAL WITH IT. No shooter, not even Goldeneye, gave me as many memories and awesome times as the original Halo did. i will be buying the shit out of this, and loving every second of the re-mastered campaign. Why anyone would have a problem with that is beyond me. I'm looking forward to what 343i can do with the Halo franchise.
Also, I guess MS learned their lesson from the overpriced ODST, but $40 seems like they want to appeal to the fans but are torn between that and profit... $30 seems more reasonable to me, but I don't know about how difficult a project this is so I can't say... if they remastered all the maps $40 would be very reasonable. I hope chill out is there, but with more Cold Storage like geometry, favorite H3 map ever.
The difference between Sony's remastered collection and Halo CEA is that Halo not only features higher resolution textures of the original game (ala God of War), it also has another mode with new visuals that bring it up to par with other games from this generation.
It's not really a remake; more like Star Wars: Special Edition.
Sony collections look nice, but they are just adding the uncompressed textures where possible.
Amen brother.
If you ever had the full 8 v 8 with 4 Xboxs in your basement playing this multiplayer, you know the truth. The most fun I've ever had gaming. Period.
I still believe the Halo CE multiplayer to be the best, but if I can play it, what the hell is the point?
That being said, I'll get this just so I can play the campaign again, yes I still have my orgional game, but it's useless on the 360, and fits of rage playing Halo 2 (F**king tracking rockets) resulted in all my orgional xbox controllers being broken.
