I saw an interview with Frank O'Connor who said they weren't offering the original halo multiplayer online, just the remastered maps for Reach. He said they didn't want to split the player base.
ew....for 40 bux that game BETTER have online multiplayer.....what a crock of shit. Sure halo is good but its just like ODST...its a bogus throwback with been there/done that online....garbage.
This is actually a good deal for me because I played the SECOND Halo but never the first. I want their blood on my hands
I like Halo but this doesn't excite me the way other halo releases have... At least not at $40. Once it drops a little I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't be picking it up.
I'll probably get this as I've only really read the book for the game, and have never played through CE. One thing this story touched upon that gets me excited is the new Halo book. I didn't know about it, but since I can't get into the new Forerunner trilogy, it'll be nice to return to the Halo universe itself.
i never played the singleplayer(only multiplayer) so this is a must for me. any chance there will be some additional goodies like developers commentary/unlockables in Halo: CE Anniversary?
Cool I like how they don't split the community. I'll be buying it for $40, you can always buy the original on XBLA for cheap if you don't want to.
R-Type Dimensions could go from old to new graphics at the push of a button, but that made sense given how old the first R-Type is.
There should be a law against HD remakes unless the first game is at least two generations old. Remaking games from the last generation just doesn't make sense to me.

Frankie said that multiplayer wouldn't be the same if it was implemented because of lag and what not that wasn't present in LAN play.

MS way of basically giving old classic title complete technical(graphics, sound, level design, AI) overhaul, additional content AND old untouched version of the game for budget price? i want more of these.

I love Halo as much as the next guy, but I never thought I'd see a well seasoned gamer claim Halo to be in their top 5. No offense, Hamza. I just don't see it.
This is going to be pretty awesome regardless. I like that 343 went the extra miles of updated various assets of the game. Of course, the original still looks and plays beautifully on the 360, so the $40 price point would have been laughable without the extra incentive.

MS has been selling this game for 20 bucks on XBLA for years now, and it looks amazing on my HDTV. If it weren't for all the additions or adding Halo 2, a simple HD remastering would have been a rip off for 40. At least Sony does give you two games for $40 in HD with trophies. Not much, I know, but it's great for people who are new to the games or would rather not stare at a blurry mess on their HDTVs while slaying Gods and shit.

I dont see why its hard to believe that Halo is in anybodys top 5....why do folk have a problem with it?... Halo is awesome, Halo 2 is awesome, Halo 3 was merely great, ODST was a really nice change of pace and still great much like Halo Wars. I welcome this game and Halo 4 with open arms, as a fan of games.

@TheNephilym keep in mind Sony gives 2 games of 6hours campaign wih no multiplayer,and btw have you ever compared God of War hd to the normal one? http://www.gametrailers.com/video/god-of-god-of-war/58945 look at this, tell me Halo Anniversary looks like the original after that. It's completely different artstyle all around they even show it during the trailer, 40$ isnt too much when you think a new game is 60+ and some don't even have MP. Just my 2cents.

Still Halo looks awesome compared to many re-make, its not only made for hd, just look the comparison they make during the video, so many others are just 1080p enhanced with nothing changed at all.

I agree it does look great, and in all honesty Halo 1 is the only game in the series I actually liked.
I still own it on Xbox 1 and I plan on buying it again in HD.
BUT that doesn't change the fact that it's still "just" a HD Re-make.

But i do see your point, i'm all about remaking the games that changed the face of the industry, people might think it's too soon, but still, 10 years is alot especially since the new generation missed the original Halo probably, some kids nowdays probably never played the original xbox, they only saw 360/PS3/Wii. Everything else is obsolete for them seeing how fast technology moves on now.

As cool as this will be, if the elites don't act like the ones in Halo: Reach and are just stupid instead then I will be unhappy. Also, I think the mk V armor took a step back in graphics.

i guess the reason he says halo brought him to shooter genre on console, was mostly because it was new, quake wasnt really new and we all knew about it, Goldeneye in the end was still only James Bond, the game was awesome, but the story was just James Bond as usual. Halo came out with a whole new universe and story that was pretty epic in Halo: Combat Evolved.

It's MS's biggest franchise ans they can't even do a good of a job as Capcom with their Resident Evil?
This sounds like a wonderful opportunity to play the original Halo with new friends all over again. $40 seems a bit high for that experience but I'll wait to hear more details before deciding.

How were the physics? That's a big part of the game for me. The original Halo game had great physics, but they got dumbed down in 2 and have remained that way ever since. :(
