Ten maps huh? I would have preferred a couple more, but it's already better than Reach as far as I can tell. I would prefer ten unique maps than eight and overuse of Forge World. I'm excited to see the locales 343i has created!
Really, ten maps for a massive multiplayer game this is just a pisstake so they can sell you more DLC. Halos time has passed
For reference, Halo CE had 13 maps (10 of which were good), Halo 2 had 12 maps (9 of which were good), Halo 3 had 11 maps (8 of which were good), and Reach had 13 maps, 5 of which were made from Forge World, and a number of which were used for campaign for the first time in the series. Didn't play enough of Reach multiplayer to really say which were good or bad.
If this had 10 maps, a handful of which are really great small-medium sized, and a few solid picks for BTB, I won't complain. Just give me some maps packs that aren't 3 for $10. That shit is absurd. Even COD is better than that these days. For $15, the first MW3 DLC pack had 4 maps and 2 spec ops missions. DLC 2 had 3 maps, 2 spec ops missions, and a couple of those face off maps. Much better value IMO.
Hopefully Microsoft gets their shit together with Halo 4 DLC. We had it much better with Halo 2. Two maps for free, the other 9 they added were $2.00-$2.50 per map, and after 2-3 months they were made free. Since Halo 3 we've been getting fucked with DLC. I just stopped buying them after a while. Now Microsoft gets none of my money post release.
