That's really cool and all but elephants are basically nowhere to be found in Greek mythology. Maybe Kratos' new enemies will be from Hinduism or some shit.
Not sure why but I found myself thinking about other stuff half way through the demo, I think it's because I never found it fun to watch other people play GoW, I mean slash slash slash, watching it get's pretty boring I suppose.
Never enjoyed GOW games, dont appeal. But the last of us looked fucking insane. Insane i tell you. Insane.
nice to see no ones taking kratos's title of most violent murderer with blades away from him anytime soon.
Finally, a developer is willing to give gamers what they really want, man versus pachyderm-man combat.
Most impressive part of that video: Kratos willingly prevented a civilian's death by incoming spear. Thar be character development. And he used his sudden and inexplicable green Blinx the Time Mass-Murderer powers to rebuild some stuff. Kratos is a softie now. Toward people at least. Transhumans can still suck it.

Nope. I was underwhelmed by GOW3 ... I think they squeezed all the epic-ness they could out of the franchise in 2, and it's been diminishing returns since then.
Not for a lack of effort, per se. But the series doesn't have the same impact it used to. It's not like Metal Gear Solid where you watch Snake literally grow and get old throughout the series ... Kratos' arc has always been the same: Fucking Rage.

I got to admit those graphics were really impressive, but I was very bored watching the demo. Everything since Gow 2 has not captured me.
Kratos saved a human by pushing him away from an incoming javelin... I kinda liked that, and I shall suck out as much story as I can from it...

Since you seemed to miss the sarcasm inherent in the article and many of the comments, yeah that was a pretty bullshit trailer. We all know how GoW plays. I mean, what they showed us isn't much different from any of the games in the series other than the fact that some of the guys had elephant heads. I doubt that's the only thing new in the game, but some more useful details would have been great. "Hey it plays exactly like 1-3 did" isn't all that blood-pumping.

All I'm seeing in this comments are a broken fraction of devoted fans who say this will rock, and people who probably don't play past the second game in any franchise because they think more of the same is bad. Innovation is still in place, new stuff is still coming. It's just the same basic gameplay underneath. It ain't broken, don't fix it. Just add to it. And boy it looks like they are adding a lot to this. Did you see the Uncharted-like climbing?

As a huge God of War fan I loved every second of it. Kratos is the King of hack n slash! They could pump out God of War titles every year, and I don't think I'd get tired of it.

When is Dtoid going to post a Last of Us story, it was the only good thing Sony showed during their conference.
Why? Does Uncharted climbing suck? Or is it the fact that it's borrowed from Uncharted? No, wait, wait, that's right. God of War copied Super Mario 64, since both games have 3D platforming.
Because it is very linear and yes it does suck, along with it's platforming. And I'm not one of those guys who go to the trouble of finding "who did it first", unless it's something like Smash bros, so no need to make some imaginary persona that you can channel your anger to.
still need to finish God of War 3 and yet to buy Lords of Shadows.
