Hey, I'm in the same boat as you guys. I played and enjoyed Lost Planet 1 quite a bit. Never touched 2 and never plan to though.
And yet here I am excited about 3. Guess it's just like Devil May Cry 1-3.

Lost Planet 3rdPS with giant mechs in FPS like Steel Battalion. Sounds cool, but so did the second game. Hopefully it plays well this time around.
I love the 2nd one and to be honest, I always thought people liked that one more than the 1st. Either way "tight and fun" sounds good. I wasn't that impressed by the trailer but I'm definitely gonna follow this game.
Lost planet 2 got a bum rap. I'm glad they were able to make a third. This series may not always do everything right but they do interesting things with each.
LP2 would have been alot more enjoyable if they hadn't forced the co op so much. It basically killed most of the single player experience because aside from that, I enjoyed it.

I HATE that it forces you into FPS when in the mech.
I want to see my whole mech when I'm inside it, so I can see my whole awesomeness!

Here's a little hint: If you actually played the second game it was awesome. Hating on it without having actually played it is so 2010.
Honestly I don't understand the hate for LP2. Especially not when compared to LP1 :/. Oh well opinions and all that.
I never played LP1 online, and LP2 only for 2 weeks I had gold left. Played it way longer then that though. Since I have no intention on getting gold anytime soon. I hope singleplayer will work out.
And yeah the whole first person thing in mech irks me. Hopefully the rest gets worked out well enough to warrant a purchase down the line.

Lp2 was great. Not $60 great, but still great. $40 great. Anyways I hope this turns out fan-titty-tastic
LP2 was awesome for its customization and gunfights with giant akrids. LP3 is looking a lot like Red Faction 3, at least initially. We all know how that affected *that*particular franchise:-/
