Disturbed still sucks, but good on him for showing more than the ridiculous caricature he and the rest of them portray on stage while they play their "metal."
Disturbed is definItely has more industrial aspects than metal, as their sound is very much more processed than traditional metal bands, but they do not suck. While their older albums are arguably their best, they put on one hell of a live show, and that says quite a lot in an era where most bands that came around in the last 5-10 years suck completely and are incapable of putting on a show at all because they all sound exactly the same due to influence from the recording industry.
Where do you listen to music that most music has sucked in the last 5-10 years outside of Disturbed? You must have a very limited awareness of music.
While Disturbed is the musical equivalent of being the scariest employee at Pier One Imports, I hope that this guy (despite being in a band that rivals Nickelback in terms of being boring white people music) can create a score that is both interesting and powerful.

How come there's no "BARF!!" in this title. The only rocker I know who can put together an awesome soundtrack is Trent Reznor. Korn and Disturbed aren't even awesome at what they do. Good, sure. But not great, and not for me.

You're argument isn't really complex. The music you're referring to is mainstream music and of course it's going to be processed a certain way because it's processed in a way where the people who like the type of music are going to continue to like it. You're going to get a bunch of bands that sound a like because that is what the 'majority' likes. Which is why when it comes to video games you see all these Call of Duty titles and you see copy cats.

I think Disturbed can make some cool riffs, the guitar tone is nice, and the bassist is from San Antonio, Texas if I'm not mistaken. Look, some positive things in this article.
