Also, it has a terrible name.
Why would anyone buy this?
Maybe if Rocksteady stepped away from the bondage gear it would look better.
I don't think the controller is inherently awkward, but I think it's silly to shoehorn it into a game that really doesn't need it.
What gets me, though... Why Sony isn't pushing the Vita as a means to output PS3 audio/video into your hands? Remote Play could have taken out so much wind from Nintendo's 'play the game without needing the TV' feature. For anyone that owns a PS3, purchasing a Vita to complement the system might be a cheaper solution, but we won't know that until they announce the WiiU price.
And really this release is pointless, a lot of the Wii u stuff is, by the time they actually come out, most people will already played them on other consoles or the PC.
The fact that Ninja Gaiden 3 was on that trailer was hilarious, just feels like trying to pander to the crowd that wants M rated games.

its definitely a matter of opinion but in mine AC is one of the best looking games I own - on PC.
I can't say anything here is surprising, I think we all knew it was a bad idea. In the long run though, if the Wii U has these capabilities AND competitive hardware then it can only be a strength. The shovelware on Wii was only really viable because so much of the audience didn't know any better. This gen will probably be different.
I wouldn't promote something that doesn't work in a bid to steal some thunder. They already tried that before the Vita was out and many folks aren't happy what they hyped does not work.
The Wii U does support 1080p. That doesn't mean it's a good port, though. I was initially very excited for this, but it looks like a rush job.

Good article, I hope this is not a case of history repeating itself.
I didn't read that, but I know a guy with a dictionary.
...or maybe they could sell a game that will take very little time to port and throw in a few new features for people that haven't played it yet on the Wii U. Maybe if that sells alright they could pull a game out of their asses afterwords?
The PS3 and 360 "support" 1080p, but they struggle to run most games at even 720p. What I'm wondering is whether the Wii U has enough RAM and power for 1080p to be the default resolution for most titles.
Am I the only one who sort of cringes every time they hear that a game for the Wii, Wii U, etc will have some sort of "special" (gimmick) controls? When I saw that Arkham City would make use of the special controller on the Wii U my reaction was "ugh, I don't want to deal with that sh*t, why couldn't they just port it with better graphics?" The stuff Nintendo is pushing is a complete turnoff to me. Even if there are some great AAA titles, I'll be buying them in spite of them being on the Wii U.
But since this is a port instead of a lead platform game, and this is still first generation software, games may not be up to par graphically with systems that developers have had 6 or 7 years to work on. At the very least, the internals seems to be a little more standardized relative to PCs and the 360/PS3 in general (much more so than the Wii or 3DS), so this shouldn't last long. Especially since this its multi-core Power PC based like the 360 is.
But yea. This all means jack shit if the software is rehashed.
let's just keep this in mind: did 360 or PS3 have great launch titles? nope. Perfect Dark sucked and don't even get me started on fucking Lair (that WAS a launch game, right?).
@Nathaniel
Doesn't Sony require you to have two copies of the same game for their feature? or am I thinking of something else? that's what they're doing with Sly 4.
No, it's just a bad porting job. The WiiU has been stated to be as powerful as the PS3 at the very least. More are saying it's more powerful, if only just a bit. Hell, no one knows the specifics of the hardware(the specs released were still vague on RAM and GPU), so you can't even state how "cheap" the stuff is. In summation: Stop talking about things you do not know. It would be wise to wait until more info about it is released
It works perfectly, and they can have it retroactively added just as easy as Move.
Easier, considering hackers were able to enable it in every game by changing a value in an XML file
"Personally, all I was hoping for out of Armored Edition was the ability to play the game on controller screen (so I won't need to monopolize the family TV when replaying it)"
I am hardly 'Mr Moneybags', but wouldnt it make more sense to buy a second TV rather than fork out for whole other console to play Arkham city?
Seems like Nintendo is engineering a solution to a problem that doesnt exist? TVs are not that expensive, surely living space is not that much of an issue?
Design a gimmick console. Received gimmick games.
Colour me "suprised".
Yeaaaahhhh.....
