Well, I'm sold. It's basically Ace Combat + bits of CoD - the things that make CoD so awful at times.
As much as I'm going to miss flying the skies over Usea, Osea, and Yuktobania, as well as missing the impressive super weapons (most-likely), I still can't wait to get back into the pilot's seat of this series.
So, they are going super realistic by putting the franchise in the real world, but then they implement this "Close Range Assault" feature that has you shooting missiles at targets 20 yards away?

A guy with a skeleton balaclava? Bad guy is a russian called Markov? Why not call it Ace Combat: Modern Warfare 2 and be done with it?

Though I'm really going to miss the fictional setting that all the previous one's were set in I'm still pumped for this game. It looks really good and fun to play and I'm definitely going to pick it up. Although I really hope that they haven't completely given up on the awesome universe that they created as I would love to see it make a comeback, guess I'll have to keep dreaming until the next one gets announced.
This has a crazy Modern Warfare vibe to it. Russian enemies? Marakov is the bad guy? There's a guy who looks just like Ghost? AC130 level? Hopefully we dont lose the Ace Combat charm from the PS2 days.
