5:52 PM -- Some things don't change despite the new format of E3. You know, like things starting WAY LATE. There was also a ton of red tape to get in: This one required a ton of secret handshakes, stickers, print outs, and various checkpoints. I wasn't able to get a press seat so I'm sitting behind a curtain listening in like some Konami pervert creeping in on the event. I should have headbutted the guy with the Dtoid helmet and walked all over his bleeding corpse on my way in.
5:55 PM -- Mark Franklin takes the stage. Introduces the VP of Marketing and reminds people about the swag bags and journalist asset cds they should pick up on the way out. He begins waxing poetic about how cool Konami is, hopefully this will be short. He begins to talk about DDR games: DDR TWO NEW TITLES: DDR for the 360 and for the Wii. DDR House Party. Wut? "DDR fans will be moving their arms and legs in this experience." Funny that this is going up against Wii Fit ...
5:57 PM -- Mark begins talking about Contra for the DS and Konami's PSP titles such as Castlevania and quickly touches on a few other small new kids' playground games "that encourage an active lifestyle." That's business speak for "buy this for fat kids."
6:00 PM -- Silent Hill 5 is announced for next-gen consoles: 360 and PS3, and also promises that it will feature horror "unlike anything ever seen in a video game." The game leads Alex Sheppard, an ex-military guy, to find his brother in Silent Hill. The original composer is being brought back to compose the sound track (everyone claps). Can't wait! Here's the trailer below. Unfortunately there is no gameplay, just the ominous logo:
6:03 PM -- Hideo Kojima takes the stage, everyone goes NUTS. He begins making fun of the new E3 format and how his friends didn't want to come to E3 because the new format isn't as fun, and reflects a little about his past. The crowd claps and the same MGS4 trailer plays; the same one we saw this morning at the Sony press conference. Everyone sits there in silence as the slick (but periodically low-frame-rate) trailer plays on.
6:12 PM - There is an underwhelming clap as the lights come on and the Konami guy thanks everyone for attending. I guess people were expecting a different announcement. We'll probably have to wait until 2009 for that one, right Workman? This concludes my liveblog of the Konami press event. We're all fried and working hard to get a few more stories up before going to dinner and finding creative ways to acquire new and interesting STDs from industry veterans. Thanks for reading Destructoid, the most uninvited company to the Konami press event!

Sorry to over post but:
Everyone sits there in silence as the slick (but periodically low frame rate) trailer plays on. Niero you're funny as hell man!
Boy, that Workman guy really fucked everyone over. So much for that deal between MS and Konami. I'd be embarassed to make another news post if I were him. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to break open the piggy back and buy that PS3.
Um, Workman has nothing to be ashamed of. MSG4 is likely to still come to the 360, only not on release. Give it a year and I guarantee they'll be announcing it for the 360 in 2009.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

It'll happen, but not for a long time, folks. I for one am not waiting that long.
I made a better version check it!
Petal Rear Squalid Door will be out for approx 3 months, and then it will be announced for the 360.
So it is written, so it done.
Ill get that. And Metal Gear 4 for Xbox 360 (Developer: Kojima Productions. Publisher: Workman's Magic Lamp Group LCC.)
