Here it is, ladies and gentlemen. As detailed earlier , this is the newly debuted trailer for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, as introduced by Hideo Kojima himself at Sony's E3 press conference. If you are yet to see it, make sure you're buckled in for one awesome ride, as the highly anticipated sequel dazzles with gorgeous graphics, high drama and a full English voice cast. All this, plus that epic fight between Raiden and Vamp. Good lord, it's sexy as biscuits.
Kojima said this would be the last in the Metal Gear Solid series, so drink in the hype and the hunger while you can, if you believe that wily trickster. It won't last forever, although by the way some of you are complaining about the 2008 release date, it's almost like it will. Did you really expect it in 2007 at this rate? Anyway, I digress. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy the wait for a game that looks to be what the new generation is all about.

Meet the rest of the team
Wow, just like the old days. It feels good to once again be bored stiff watching a lame MGS story unfold in front of my eyes. I did make it to the 3 minute mark of the trailer before my corpus callosum tremored.
you noticed the blonde hair under the balaclava too, huh? what do you think our conspiracy theories are? think there are two Raidens? one the classic soldier and one the crazy dark ninja? Solid Raiden perhaps?
Amazing trailer, I am starting to suspect the guy with the sunglasses in Meryl's unit is Raiden or maybe he's the person you are controlling in this game
Seriously though, the theatrics are al nice and stuff, plus the notion of a worldwide release is nice, but i'd like to see some gameplay now. I mean...if the Gekko roar/screech sets off the foxdie, and it causes snake to become all disfunctional, then, does that transfer into gameplay too? I mean, im not the only one that noticed that the soldiers started going mad after a screech is heard, right?
who cares about gameplay to be seen? we know the game play will be similiar from past incarnations with the added bonus of the tweaking of this console. the story seems engaging enough and that trailer ... oh my.
@Ron-is-a-liar - Hey stupid, just because it's not announced for that other console at E3 doesn't mean it's not coming later. Quit being such a stupid dick and go bother people at Kotaku.
@the rest - that was a really neet fight scene that I won't get to control . . . but will still have to watch. Damn you, kojima. You build such an awesome hype machine to sell us the same fucking game. I mean, there was a big jump from 1 to 2, with the addition of all the first person controls, etc, but Snake eater? They just took a bunch of frustrating crap that you have to access from the slowest loading PS2 menu is recent history. I was really excited when I heard this game may be making a cross platform release at some point, but now I just don't care. Kojima's statement about a war economy in this particular trailer seems particularly applicable to the MGS economy as well. It only exists for it's own sake; any reason for it to exist died long ago.
What, no love for Ron "Look, I couldn't make this sh*t up if I tried; oh wait, I already do!" Workman?
That's not very nice at all. :<
@Stripe:
Stop with the sour-graping. If you want the game, save up and buy a PS3. Unlike what you've probably read on this site, it's not going to attack your dog or give you scabies when you take it out of the box. You might actually, y'know, have fun playing it, being that it's a video game console and all.
Well, the general consensus is that Metal Gear is, in fact, a good series, which means that MGS4 is (probably) going to be a good game. YOUR mileage may vary, but last I checked, "good games" were not decided by TheStripe - never mind the fact that your definition of a "good game" is painfully absent. Instead, all I got from your post was a whole lot of BOOOO HOOO HOOO, which is the antithesis of the PEW! PEW! PEW! that's abundant on this site.
I'm certainly not shedding any tears over the Mario and Halo series not winding up on PS3 - both "good series" with "good games" in their respective rights - but I won't talk badly about them because of that.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Damn that vid was intense.
That is all.
(Bit disappointed that there's no gameplay footage, but then again did we see much for MGS3? And that turned out awesome.)
Just... just release it already. I'll kneel and buy the machine...

Kojima and Miller have been working together as of late...
*watches trailer*
...oh...my...*head asplodes*

Still psyched for the game though.
Raiden = bad ass.
As for the vid, meh. More of the same. The gameplay will hopefully be completely overhauled. Otherwise, I'll but it in ten years when it costs $5.
Still ain't getting a PS3 purely for this game, but I do want to play it sometime.
Raiden = bad ass?
Really?
GASM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hee hee
Dammit, I seriously am going to have to shell out for a PS3, and that makes me a sad panda

I need good games. And if you finished reading the post I made, you'll see why I'm not counting MGS4.
@Richard - I hope you're being facetious.
