So the mystery system was revealed tonight at Microsoft's E3 conference, and it turns out to be the new Halo 3 Special Edition Console. But, that's not all! For all the female players and Smurfs out there, multi-colored controllers are heading your way. And last but not least, the new keyboard Messenger Kit attachment for your controller which will run you a 30 note. I think that's a fair price to pay so you don't have to talk into a mic. That's just too much work for me ...
As for the controllers, I'm suddenly remembering the Nintendo 64 for some reason, and that tropical version of Skittles that is supposed to be better than the original but just don't quite taste as good. I always buy it thinking "maybe this time", but not yet...
Hit the jump for the official details on these and the street date on the European Elites.

I think we had a MASSIVE DAMAGE/RIIIIDGEE RACER!!! moment when peter moore held that halo themed 360... cause the rabid halo fans don't already have a 360. Do we really need another 360?
No, I'm with you too. I have absolutely no interest in this 360. The original Halo Xbox was cooler, because at least it was transparent. This one... it's just kind of "meh." Only the really hardcore Halo nerds, and all the little kiddies, will be getting excited about this one.
The keyboard attachment for $30? Nah. More like $20 or $25. Damn whats up with these peripherals being that expensive? The only great price is the Wireless receiver for PC at $15. I would have paid $20. Oh well. there goes paying that billion dollars.
Why're they giving this thing an HDMI port? I feel a little betrayed that MSoft is putting new tech in this ugly mother and won't upgrade the Premiums.
I liked the rainbow colored controllers from my N64. It was much easier to keep track of which one was which when I brought them over to a friends. I had Yellow, Blue, Black and the gray one that came with it.
With that new Viva Pinata Mini game I think MS is looking to get some of that lucrative "casual"/non-gamer market. Pink is a good way to win over the ladies and gay men.
Man, cmon M$, if you want us to take your machine as a serious, adult gaming device, we need it to look the part. Besides, if you really want your 360 to look better, you should get a skin to put on it. If anyone is interested in that, the company I work for makes custom graphic skins for the 360. BTW, not a plug just trying to share with my gaming compadres.
Those controllers look like they've been painted with a rattle-can. HOW MUCH DOES THAT HALO360 COST!?! Nobody knows. 20Gb please. They are apparently going for the non-hardcore Halo loving, but don't yet have 360s people. (Seems kind of niche to me) I wonder if it has HDMI even though it only has 20Gb. I could look for myself, but I'm that lazy and I care that much.
Okay, on a slightly off-topic note, I have a premium 360 from December '05. I have not put any fans or anything on it, and it hasn't died. Anyway...
C'mon M$oft! You wanna sell me a new Xbox??? Do ya?? Give me that Halo 360, with backlit buttons on the controller, a Halo themed play charge kit (green and orange and such), HDMI 1.3, built in WiFi, and slap another 100 gigs on that Hard Drive so it can be like its older brother Elite. I would pay $500 for this, even though my Xbox is in ship-shape condition. Seriously guys, wouldn't that be awesome? Throw in the beta for permanant play while you're at it ;)
