Our next feature presentation in tonight's Dtoid night at the movies is the new trailer for Killzone 2. As Niero mentioned, it does look a bit nicer than Halo 3 so far, and even has 80% more screaming in it. Take a look for yourself and see what you think before you download it from PSN later today, and keep an eye out for more details from our team of newsbots who are attending this year's E3.

Guys, we miss you and we can't wait to see what you've got for us this week. Also, we're out of Purple Drank in the employee lounge. Bring moar plz kthx.

OH sorry, game looks hawt. Looks like the love child of Halo and Gears, what with the cover system looking good.

(Killzone 1 sucked, IMO, why make a sequel? Concept was to good to throw away? Hope it does good)

this site is definitely filled with MS fanboys... anything good for the ps3 leads to the sony trolls coming out. if you think Killzone 2 looks bad, you need help. youre way too big of a gamer if kz2 doesnt please you... this is ps3's first year, and games are already surpassing what 360 games have to offer. wats the buzz about having the final fantasy creator make the Blue Dragon game and japanese games... this is America... just cause it's popular in Japan doesnt mean america will like em too...

These comments are trolltastic to the max!
I think it could use more color, I get tired of monochromatic games. The characters are obviously what they worked the hardest on, I think they look great. Fire and explosions, not so great. Looks like some kind of cover system being added. (hopefully) The intro has character faces that are expressive everywhere except their eyes (which is kind of important.) Just like Halo3 looks better now then the beta, this game will look better when it comes out.

It looks okay, graphic-wise, but it's obviously made worse by the fact they tried to pass off something much, much better as genuine. Gameplay-wise, I'm liking what I see, but I liked what I saw about the first one before I started playing it.

I remain tentatively interested, but I'm not about to blow my load.

Personally I think it's looking pretty good. I never played much of the original (played the first 5 or so levels at a mates house), and it came off as a pretty much generic shooter (WW2 in space), however this sequel does look pretty good tbf. Something developers have got to understand with the FPS genre, however, is that people no longer want 'run and gun' shooters, they want tactics to take the fore in their games and hopefully Killzone 2, with destructible environments etc will provide this. Unlike Halo 3 which I will probably be able to run-gun and grenade through with little difficulty.

Then again I might be talking total crap (/has just woken up from a heavy night).

I hope there aren't people out there who still take the "Halo Killer" remarks seriously. This looks DECENT, and it doesn't really have to look much better.

And remember, Killzone: Liberation was actually a good game, for those of you who forgot about that black oblong thing that's collecting dust in your underwear drawer...

I'm intrigued, at the very least. Even though Killzone was a bit rough around the edges, there was something in its style that kept my attention. I think it had something to do with its presentation, or maybe I'm just a sucker for dystopian commercial architecture with nice lightmaps (there was some pretty impressive pre-calculated lighting on the major set pieces). The game's visual style, though gray, was internally consistent, and I never got the impression that it felt bland (you want bland? Try Pariah on for size).

I dunno. It's pretty cool, but it's not setting my pants on fire.

looks good though...downloaded the HD version and there is some weird cut-outness around the gun in the fp scenes (black jaggies and fringing). The people sometimes go transparent??? lights from backround buildings can be seen through their bodies, the faces look amazing though. I do not mind the "grey" I am sure it is not all like this. A good looking PS3 game at last?

Lets face it, it looks like a generic shooter, probably will play like one, HOWEVER and this is the big one, its the only game on the ps3 that looks like its worth buying...so its gonna sell loads becasue its all there is to play! Shit will sell if its the only thing you can buy!

It looked great. It was right up there with Gears and could possibly be the best looking game I've seen on a next gen system thus far (though none of us can say for sure from that one internet trailer). No one expected KZ2 to look like their E3 trailer last year and it doesn't. Now that we've established that, let's move on. KZ2 did a fantastic job of making an incredible looking game.

If you go into the trailer expecting it to suck, you may be able to find things wrong with it, but not many. If you go into it desperately hoping that the PS3 will win this generation, it will be the most amazing thing you've ever seen.

I would be hard pressed to compare this game to Halo 3. They have different art styles. If you are going to compare KZ2 to anything, compare it to Gears.

This is the type of game I would buy a PS3 for but I still flat out can't afford one. =(

I saw "in-engine", not "in-game". I also saw in-engine when they showed those fucking rubber ducks 3 years ago.

impressive, but it is still killzone and not halo

There are opinions and then there are straight up jump on the bandwagon hatred pieces written towards the PS3 and thats what Jimmy S. portrays every time he writes something related to Sony's console. That in is where my problem lies.

So in your words fucking deal with that.

Awesome. Just Awesome. Doesn't look quite as good as the other trailer made it look like though. This might actually prove that the ps3 has better graphics after all.

And that mention of it looking a little better than Halo, do you mean graphics wise? Because Halo 3 is hideous and looks like an NES title compared to this. Seriously, Halo3 looks like an original xbox game.

Maybe I also like generic FPS...but it is kinda cool. As a PS3 game...I say Resistance is better...but I haven't played either so..oh well.

I agree with 908peruvian
Why the fuck do heavily armored troops run up towards the good guys?

Don't like what I have to say? Too fucking bad. Suck it up, it's my opinion. You don't see me insulting or jumping on all the people who disagree with me do you? No. I just stated my opinion and left it at that. So shut the hell up.

It's not going to be a "Halo killer," but it looks decent. I'm not excited about it, though. It's all about the gameplay, for me. A pretty face don't mean shit if she can't construct a coherent thought or fuck like a minx.

Better graphics than Halo 3? Certainly. Nicer looking? No. It's like they were trying to see how many different shades of grey they could possibly use. I'm pretty sure they got all of them.

guys dont base the graphics off what was shown at the Sony Press Conference. download the KZ2 trailer from the Playstation Store in .mp4 format there's definitely a LOT more color and detail. it's in fin HD and doesnt even compare to the gametrailers HD version.
