Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

This is easily the most trouble I've ever had sitting still to write a post. Allow us to present the new trailer for Beautiful Katamari, coming this fall to Xbox 360. The difference made by the new HD graphics is a little tough to make out from the video, but the sound of it is still like having candy shoved into your ears by a koala bear.

Some of our staff were lucky enough to get their hands on this at E3, so stay tuned for their impressions. In the meantime, click the play button above. Have you clicked the play button yet? Do it! Dance with me, dammit!

I know what you mean. There are tons of great games that I missed out on for one reason or another last generation. I'm trying to play catch up by buying a few older games each month on top of recently released games.

It's still coming to the Wii, yes. The trailer just happens to be for the 360 version.

Yup, BK seems like a game that would be more appropriate on Wii. Super simple graphics plus it would be great with motion control.

Oh, I saw this already on XBL yesterday and it was the first video in my download queue.

The killer irony of it's release is that I'll be in the middle of where the game is heavily located an unable to buy or play it for a week. I'm going to Japan the week GTA comes out and coming back a week after Beautiful Katamari comes out. I'm torn between buying the stacks of readily available doujinshi in japan and saving my yen to buy this game when I get home.

And so long as kuru kuru rock and Katamari on the Rocks made the soundtrack, I won't make a peep towards this game.

And if they don't, I have both games' soundtracks loaded on my HDD anyway.

Katamari soundtrack = Magic, FTW.

That song is amazing. It reminds me of the 70's or the band ELO (Electric Light Orchestra)

HAHA ha-puken

Just want to say a little something to the non believers out in the crowd today. Open your hearts. If you can't find utopia in the simple bliss that is rolling up terrified Japanese people and all there crap then you really need to let go of the reigns of the serious-Mobile and crash carefree into the PURE joy that is THE DAMACY! Trust the moth. I would be doing a disservice to you and myself if i didn't share the precious memories that were tightly locked away in my katamari loving soul.

If you don't understand this game then sirs and mad'ams you don't understand life.

If everyone in the world played Katamari there would be no wars in the world. Forget bombs, let's drop PS2's and Katamari all over the world ^_^

I fail to see how someone could not come away from playing this game without feeling really happy and wanting to dance XD

On the subject of that, want to have some fun? Listen to the Katamari soundtrack while playing Silent Hill.

I wish that the care takers of this series were brave enough to try new things with it. We heart Katamari did a lot of new stuff that I was impressed with, liek the under water level and the race track level. But judging from Me and My Katamari and from interviews with the new producer, they are going to try stuff like that anymore.

It would be fun to start a level with a fully loaded Katamari, then have crash into stuff in order to make it smaller. Stuff like that.

I wont care if you will be able to play online between the Wii version and the 360 version. That is a dream of mine, a wonderous dream that will likely never come true.

Homeslice, you just conjured the image of a triangle head rolling up a katamari o' corpses.

If we are going down that route, try listening to the Neverhood soundtrack while playing Manhunt. You'll find it's surprisingly appropriate.

I fail to see what people like about Katamari, you go around as a giant ball of trash and collect anything u run over with? is that the main plot of the game? or am i missing something thats not shown on this video. not to bash either, but doesnt look like HD either...

First off you have to understand this game is the rare "greater than the sum of its parts" kind of game. The simple explanation of a ball rolling up stuff is the common understanding of the game, but its so much more...

This is one of those games that people after playing it will either "get it" or they wont. I started getting into these weird type of games after playing a game I borrowed from a friend called Mr. Mosquito on the PS2. It was so bizarre and different that it brought me right back into being a game junkie. I started actively hunting down those types of games. Personally I love the fact that there are some developers out there that actually look at the market and decide that there are some gamers out there that prize originality and creativity over the next iteration of Super Duper Save the World Simulator.

Those of you that haven't played Katamari and continue to rip on it... please just go back to playing this years version of whatever EA game it is you love so much.

I'm sure the only reason katamari is coming to wii is the install base.

so will you play with the classic controller? I swear, that game would suck without two analog sticks. Look at me and my katamari. I own both, and I will never buy a game on the wii that is also on the 360. 360 just has better graphics and video out.

It just feels so weird seeing katamari come to a console so underadopted in Japan.

Koala's are not cute and cuddly. They are eucalyptus drunks, that get violent if you get too close. They also make horrible noises when they're randy.
