As you may have already seen on G4 tonight, here's some footage of Assassin's Creed in action. The video shows off some of the ways you'll be dealing with crowds, using the city's architecture to your advantage, and some of the moves you'll get to use in combat situations. Something to note is just how much freedom this game gives the player in terms of how missions are carried out and completed. The best part, however, is getting to listen to Jade Raymond's voice for five and a half minutes.
Oh, and pay no attention to the mysterious floating bodies. (Fix it, Ubisoft!)

I like they way dev's always talk about advanced AI and crowd interaction and then go do something like DIVE OFF A BUILDING AND LAND INTO A CART OF HAY while the "advanced" ai pays no mind. Thats realism for ya!
That nervous laugh with the floating body is pretty priceless. Still, amazing looking game. Can't wait. This Christmas season is looking ridiculously good.
There's obviously something they're hiding about the game. The targeting system looked like a digital overlay and there were a few other "white glitches" happening in the world.
Game looks amazing in terms of gameplay alone though. Can't wait to get my hands on Jad....er, the game.
Ubisoft has been hinting that there is more going on with this game then the simple idea of an Assassin in Jerusalem. I'm thinking a training sim or something similar. Either way the game looks great. Graphics are truly next gen(for the most part) and with three months left they should be able to fix all the bugs in it. Although I wasn't too impressed with the NPC models, not enough variety there, every woman with a pot looked the same. Also the movement's of Altair looked a little under emphasized, like I could barely tell he was leaping those distances. All in all though I am excited about this game and am looking forward to adding it to my collection. At least it's a sandbox world that isn't a GTA knockoff.
The AI is *meant* to ignore you when you jump in those.
The jar carriers were changed a little while ago but the animation wasn't updated, they aren't supposed to do such an ugly bump like that. As for the floating body, it's a known bug and will be fixed soon. There's another bug that got in there but most people hasen't seemed to notice, thank goodness.
I thought the game concept is excellent, the sheer size and variety of the city very impressive, the combat system looked weird, and the crowd control and incidental effects pretty rubbish. Worst of all was the assassin's voice which sounded American and therefore totally out of place.
It really looked a bit of a mixed bag. It reminded me most of GTA but set in the Middle East.
to Twosixteen: I felt so for a very brief time, then realized that plot can be a huge part of that atmosphere, so when the plot device behind all this digital aethetics comes to light, I think you will actually be pretty engrossed in it. Right now it seems out of place because we dont know why its there, its not there just for kicks, there has to be a reason for it.
The chase was really sweet. I also dislike the strange target lock. The floating body was pretty funny but to be expected for a game at this stage of development. Also, Jade's voice is music.
Firstly, I am in complete agreement with 908peruvian. I'm tempted to record the Raymond nervous laugh and use it for all my Windows system errors.
Secondly, did the little futuristic overlay thing seem a little irritating to anyone else? It seemed like it showed up damn near all the time, from when the demo guy was looking at someone to combat to when he was just climbing up a ladder.
And, of course, weird AI.
That said, though, I've still got a boner for this game.
Anthony, if you record that laugh, please post an mp3. Do want.
And, coincidentally, I was also just about to comment that I still have a huge boner for this game. I'm a picky gamer and it takes a lot to get me really excited and interested in a game, and this one is pushing all the right buttons.
"You all do know that the game is based off a guy reading into the past and such right..yeah.. so future crap may be a good thing with this story" - RRDelay
That is what I heard. It has to do with needing to stop an assassination in a current time so they go back through time in order to see how assassins think and operate. I believe it is done through some sort of genetics or mind study on an individual who is of an assassin lineage.
More than likely we will see various civilizations throughout the game.

I don't understand the appeal of this game at all. But I never liked history.

Love the "awesome" at 4:11, very enthusiastic.
