We already knew that Infinity Ward's Call of Duty 4 was a looker, no doubt about that, but this new footage from a live demonstration at Microsoft's press conference is absolutely breathtaking. Cries of "game of show" are being thrown about, and while we don't know about that just yet, it definitely has to be one of the best looking. We've attached the standard-definition footage of this demonstration above, but you owe it to yourself to hit up the big screen, high-definition version.
The series was already very cinematic in presentation, but this new footage is so close to a movie that it's almost unbelievable. Enjoy.

@Deus I wasn't really implying that CoD4 looks to be more realistic than ArmA or Op Flashpoint... but the game play does look far more tactical than your standard FPS fare... far more tactical than any of the either CoDs.
@DuckCow ArmA is the sequel to Operation Flashpoint. While both games have their share of faults and glitches, they represent the most realistic combat simulators out there. You mostly work with a team and follow your leaders orders. On the realistic damage side, you can't eat 5 shots and live, or pickup a medpack to heal yourself. The missions go from assaulting a town, to doing a strafing run in a chopper, to sniping a convoy from a water tower.
If you haven't played Op Flashpoint or ArmA and you like realistic combat, check em out.
I really want to know why people went nuts over KillZone 2 when this game totally kicks the shit out of it graphically? Not only graphically, but I have a feeling the gameplay is going to be far better as well. If I had a PS3, I'd just skip on it and get Call of Duty 4. Luckily, it's coming to 360. Halo and KillZone are completely overrated.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
