E3 10: The Tester gets second season, casting call open photo

Loved The Tester? Hated it to death? Were totally indifferent to its existence? Well, it doesn't matter what you thought about it, because Sony's green lit a second season of The Tester, set to air this fall on the PlayStation Network. Not much else has been announced yet, but my best guess is that it'll be pretty similar to the first series, except with a new cast and probably a few new challenges.

And speaking of new cast, Sony's opened up a official casting call page on The Tester's website, with one lucky winner joining the cast. Submissions will be accepted until July 16. This time around, the community will have a bigger say in who makes the cut, as they'll be able to vote on their favorite submission. Yes, you get a voice in who eventually gets to playtest all those new family-friendly PlayStation Move titles for hours on end!

So, anyone looking forward to season two of The Tester?

this is still such a stupid show, it's like gunning for a job as a receptionist or a file clerk

They should give Barmy a second chance so that he can make his "children" (cats?) proud.

I quite enjoyed watching series 1, and I'm more than happy to watch a series 2.

Sure beats the fuck out of Big Brother.

I still can't help but laugh that they dangle a tester job like its a prize.

I think just about all you need to get a tester job is to live on the west coast and access to Craig's list.

I liked the show and believe it or not guys, there's not a lot of jobs out there. I work with two girls at Aeropostale that both have Master's Degrees. I would much rather be paid be paid $9-$20/hr working 40 hour weeks and have the ability to further progress in the video game industry than having to deal with rude ass people in retail making $7.25 and only getting 10 hours a week while looking forward to only getting promoted in retail and having to deal with more rude ass people.

The first season was ok. I'd watch it again.

The only thing that interests me in this show is how these people end up making themselves look pathetic.

It's like Big Brother, except the people in 'The Tester' are actually bigger losers who have a misconstrued idea of the actual job.

This show was like the Brady Bunch mystery of life.
I have seen every episode of Brady Bunch ever made. Not like a DVD collection or something, but back in the 80's with repeats and eventually it happened.
Why did I watch that show? I have no idea. The people are annoying, it's not funny, dramatic or....anything. It's just sort of there.
Yet if it came on I stopped flipping channels and I don't know why. I wasn't a fan...that's why it's been a mystery to me. What was attracting me?

Point of that being, that's the Tester to me. I don't even watch reality shows, but I watched every Tester. Not interested, not looking forward to it or caring who won...but despite it all, I watched the whole thing.

The Tester is Brady Bunch incarnate. Sony has some hypnotic powers going on with that show.

I'm going to go tke my pills now.

End point is: I don't care about it, but I'm probably lying to myself if I say I won't watch the next season.
