I went out on a limb and put Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World above The Last Guardian, Zelda Wii, and even Marvel Vs. Capcom 3on my most anticipated games of E3 10 list. That was before I actually saw the game in action. For all I knew, the game would be a poorly animated cash-in. It took a lot of trust in the game's creative team (headed by Paul Robertson) to tell the world how excited I am for the game. Looks like that excitement was justified.
This game looks pretty much perfect. The animation isn't quite as smooth as Paul Robertson's previous work, but then again, what (other than Metal Slug 3 and Street Fighter 3) is? The soundtrack is coming along quite nicely as well. Before now, I wasn't all that impressed with Anamanaguchi, but this stuff sounds just right. Their work on Bit.Trip RUNNER was pretty good too.
At this point, my only concern is that the game isn't going to sell that well. Sprite-based games historically have a tough time finding an audience on the PS3/360, and as of now, the game isn't planned to have an online mode. Will the online-obsessed, HD-loving PS3/360 audience buy this game, or would it have been better off on the local co-op friendly, retro-hungry Wii/DS crowd?
In other related news, Game Trailers TV will interview Edgar Wright, the director of the Scott Pilgrim film, tonight at 11pm. I still don't think the movie could ever be as awesome as the game, but that's probably because I like games better than movies (hence my job here at Destructoid).

Meet the rest of the team
Works for me. I just hope that money does something and you get upgradeable awesome moves like in RCR. Only thing I see missing is your characters seem to have a somewhat limited moveset so far. Bosses look awesome though.
Personally the deal that it's on PSN and XBLA, is like Ubisoft is hanging thsi beautiful jewel in my face but out of my reach. Can't they... uhh.. whore it to other systems a bit more like every movie game they publish? >_>

Please play Muramasa, the Demon Blade on the Wii. You'll like it :)
Okay, so I have no idea what this Scott Pilgrim thing is (I understand if there are fans who believe this to be blasphemy), and have never read anything on this game. I just clicked play on the video and immediately thought "This looks like the evolution of River City Ransom, I want this very badly". This game looks awesome, and I will be playing it on my PS3.
Even if this was called Odd Looking Boy and His Surprisingly Hot Girlfriend Beat Bitches Up and Ransom Cities, I would be totally in. Seeing as it's Scott Pilgrim *and* Paul Robertson *and* Anamanaguchi, Jesus Christ.
Hoping for playable Wallace Wells! Also, I died of awesome when I noticed that, quite authentically, the change enemies drops are in Canadian currency - you can see plenty of Twoonies
I actually like this more than his other stuff, if only because the trailer was put together really nicely, and its extremely colorful. The fact that I know and love the characters doesnt hurt either. In my opinion, this is paul's best work, though that's probably just me.

And it begins! The love of Scott Pilgrim will grow into a media empire! One media for everyone! For some, the books, for others the movie! And, for almost everyone who lives and breathes, the game, the sweet sweet game delivered to us. I don't know what good deed mankind did to deserve this beautiful creation, but I will take none the less!
To those dismissing either this game or the fantastic looking movie due to your unfamiliarity with the Scott Pilgrim comics: Go read the series now. By FAR the best indie comic series I've ever read.
Everyone knows that Scott Pilgrim is the greatest piece of fiction ever written and those who have't read it will lead empty lives, ignorant of true fulfillness.
im not a fan on how the game looks visually but the music is so kick ass i dont care what it looks like. if im beating the crap out of everyone while that song is playing i have no complaints. hopefully this has solid gameplay and its a buy for me

Also, I didn't believe it when the game was announced as "River City Ransom-esque", but it really does look that way. Giving me good vibes thur.

Hehe... I think you don't know Jonathan. He is a top notch Wii title consumer.
Which I mean that yes, he did.
Also, Im sort of a newbie around here, so I dont know every staff member's console of choice. :)
Oh well, sorry if I sounded rude. welcome to Destructoid mang!
Just because it doesn't have anti-aliasing? Also, it's not really 'pixel' art when you got a whole bunch of anti-aliasing going on, at least to me.
On the topside, this looks great.
Also Pirate-Baby-Cabanatastic is a fantastic adjective.

Also, HOLY THEY'RE INTERVIEWING EDGAR WRIGHT YES
As a side note, I really hope the movie is at least good, if not great. The movie trailer is kinda iffy in my book, but I'm still holding out hope.
BTW, I really like Scott Pilgrim.
If it has 4 player online co-op, it will be the greatest game ever conceived. Ever.
Also, was that a Street Fighter hurricane kick I spotted Scott Pilgrim doing? Heh, I love shout-outs like that. :D
I am so pissed that I have to buy a PS3 now.
Also looks slow and boring; good job UbiSoft.
But hey, Paul Robertson and Anamanaguchi.
It does. There is even a four person co-op attack. Amazing is what it is.
MAKE UP YOUR FUCKING MINDS!!
that is all.
