I like what I see so far. I just hope that the bullet reflecting system that was seen in the video isn't too exploitable. Also seems kind of easy, but I'm sure that's not hard mode they're showing off there.

The opposition needs to fire whoever had the job of placing defensive platforms.

While I prefer Wayforward's art style in Contra 4, this looks OK visually. What has me more worried is the gameplay. Level design for this section was extremely flat, and air-dashing and bullet-reflecting....I don't know. Not sold on this one.

I'll definitely keep my eyes on this one! But i can't help to feel a bit underwhelmed... The original Hard corps was crazy! Shit always exploding and the overall level/boss design is INSANE! (in one secret level you are fighting a robot simon belmont with a afro throwing fishes!)

Personally, I HATED Contra: Hard Corps because the U.S. version was overwhelming difficult.

Thats said, they really need to explain the new mechanics. It looks like they're really changing things up. (Is he reflecting bullets?)

Oh yeah, that reflect shield move and AIR DASHING make me excited. I'm glad this is getting a PS3 release.

Color me interested, this is very like good ol' Contra but with some interesting mechanics:

-Health bar, so cheap shots and deaths are reduced
-A dash move
-A shield that reflects fire, but from what i saw it lasts about 1 sec so it's all about using it strategically.

All in all very interesting, it's on my radar alright.

Digging this quite a bit. Like the art style (nice change of pace) and a health bar? Oh my yes.

Looks really cool, definitely would be interested in buying this when it comes out.

Maybe it's too early to say, but it looks too easy, especially considering it's a spiritual successor to Contra: Hard Corps. They could probably just get rid of the health bar (actually, it would be OK if there were no extra lives).

what's with all the haters? i don't know if anyone realizes that this shit isn't what's popular anymore. i remember back in the day when 2d side scrolling was the hottest shit ever (and still to this day my personal favorite genre/visual style). like hot fire lava volcano games were 2d and were the most amazing, fun, and difficult. they made you want to destroy your controller, but still play until you beat it. now 3d is popular. hd is the shit. call of duty, madden, gears of wear, etc. even street fighter isn't a real 2d graphics game anymore.

personally, i'm just glad people still make 2d games. these were the games i grew up with. all the new shit today is good and fun but the day 2d dies is gonna be like the death of a family member to me. i will cry and shed tears of sadness.

i'm stoked on this game. it looks super fun. in fact, have you guys even tried to play your old favorite games, such as the original hardcore? i'll admit i do have a few roms and a few xbla games of vintage games i still play every now and then but i'm so spoiled with popular game mechanics today like regenerating health and cover systems and hd graphics, i rarely play those old games. i play them when i bored with playing new games so much. the only games i play often are old fighting games but fuck i bought the megaman collection (and megaman 10) recently a few months ago and i played it for a day or two when i bought it and stopped because it was so fucking hard and old

what's with the life bar, the double jump, the speed dash, the block homing attack and all the rest of that? Nothing Hard about this Contra clone. (I know its like Contra: Hard Corps but since it isn't in the title it has to be a clone)
