E3 10: Running and gunning in Hard Corps: Uprising

11:00 PM on 06.12.2010

Some of you were keen on Hard Corps: Uprising upon first hearing about it recently, others ... not so much. This is why, I presume, Arc System Works and Konami decided to shy away from slapping the Contra name on what is by all accounts a game very much Contra-like in nature.

Above is our first look at it in motion, courtesy of 1UP. Yes, the style is not necessarily what you'd expect from a spiritual successor to the funky, totally masculine Genesis game Contra: Hard Corps. Is change really that bad? I don't think so; not here, anyway. Uprising is its own thing, so why not be this distinctive?

Love it or hate it, this footage probably won't have you changing your stance.

The first trailer for the Need for Speed movie is here

Oh you didn't forget, did you? There's going to be a Need for Speed movie, and it's going to star Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul. The first trailer for the movie has plenty of cliché going for it, you know, the same kind of stuff you've seen from movies about racing cars before.
