By all accounts from those who got to play it on the show floor, Mortal Kombat is a return to the series' glory days. I mean, the reactions I've heard from fans of the 2D MK games have been absolutely ecstatic -- they're worse than I am at containing emotions!
With excitement levels so high, what better time to check in with executive producer and series co-creator Ed Boon? Hell, any time is a good time to check in with him, if you ask me.
Topics discussed include the recent trend of developers bringing back our favorite franchises, "fatality meetings," and that infamous proof-of-concept movie trailer we all got such a kick out of.
Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied: "bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Awesome.
Ed Boom is a living legend to me, and Mortal Kombat shall never die.
I couldn't be happier with how absurdly cool the new MK looks (and seems to play).
I would say that just like in the early 90's it has come to shake Street Fighter throne all over agains.
A long shot guess, but I know you guys also want it to happen
Just dont milk the DLC too much. I would like to see those extra fatalities, I remember that after a while the single or the several fatalities get really old and me and my friens use to think about new fatalities for the characters and such, I think if the listen to the fans, really cool things could happen here.
I really have high expectations for this game, but if they put a price tag on moves, that's where you have to draw the line. Rey had a kinda good idea, but instead of making them characters, they should be alternate costumes, I know it won't happen but still...
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

Add me to your friend list. I dare you.
However, when I was a kid I used to rock the Mortal Kombat! - Could never do fatalities though :(
So I'm pretty super stoked about this game, pretty super stoked.
