It wouldn't be E3 without a few surprises, and one of those happens to be two videos, which went up on YouTube earlier today, showing off gameplay footage from Capcom's upcoming Marvel vs. Capcom 3: The Fate of Two Worlds. And boy, do they both look amazing.
The first video takes place on the Mega Man Legends stage, featuring Deadpool, Captain America and The Incredible Hulk facing off against Ryu, Devil May Cry's Dante and Chris Redfield. The spirit of the Marvel vs. Capcom series definitely is intact here, and the 3D character models look fantastic. The second video, which is after the jump, is more of the same, except it features Iron Man in Captain America's place and takes place on the Spiderman New York stage.
Marvel vs. Capcom 3: The Fate of Two Worlds is coming to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in Spring 2011. I don't think I can wait until them after seeing these videos, though.
Yes! Looking very Tatsunoko like and that's a good thing. Plus, it's got a lot of speed to it unlike super slow street fighter IV. Definite buy for me.
Wow this looks dumb. Just waay too much shit happening at once, which on it's own is fine, but the extra colors flashing around...ugh. It's like the tv isn't big enough to show everything. like I'm watching a Bourne fight scene.
The voices on every,EVERY move are annoying AND Tatsunoko controls. That's what kills it for me. Not excited about this at all. Nice background graphics and music though. Though I'm not fond of everything else.
Holy fuck, I'm absolutely astounded at the level of detail put into some of these character's movesets! I can recognize nearly every single one of Dante's attacks and movements from DMC3, right down to the runes that appear when he uses an air dodge. (And his blocking animation is identical to Royal Guard!)
"That was insanely awesome, except for the part where Deadpool loses to Dante. That would never happen. Ever."
I don't know, it seems like a pretty even matchup to me: both are snarky, trash-talking, nigh-invincible, gun-and-sword-combo-wielding, crazy awesome badasses who like to wear red.
If anything, Chris Redfield should've totally been able to take out Captain America single-handedly. The man punches volcanic boulders for chrissakes. Compared to that, superheroes should prove no match for his oversized biceps.
It reminds me a lot of Tatsucap, which is a very good thing.
Only 2 gripes:
1) I don't like how the voices reset whenever they do a move (case and point: I LOVE ME SOME I LOVE ME SOME I LOVE ME SOME).
2) Don't really like Iron Man's voice. Was hoping for something similar to MvC 1/2's voice. At least they made Hulk sound more Hulkish (I love how he refers to Iron Man as "Metal Man")

Totally going to play with a 3 Deadpool team.
Not really liking Deadpool's Voice actor, it alright, But I wish they'd used the Voice from the animated movie, that one feelt more spot-on.

maybe your girlfriend is atrocious lol
Unless the VIEWTIFUL combo is the only VJ reference. I'd be sad.
I'm still holding out for Phoenix Wright, Viewtiful Joe, and Skullomania.
If any of them make it, especially Skullo, I will be a happy man.
Dante is my main confirmed. FOREVER.
I was not ready. Holy shit I was not ready.....
