I'll admit I stopped following Naruto a while ago, but watching the new trailer for Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 makes me wish I had kept up with it. The first Ultimate Ninja Storm looked fantastic to begin with, but the new one comes even closer to mastering the art of cel-shading, almost perfectly replicating the anime's style and at times surpassing it. Even if you're not a fan of the series, you have to appreciate how far cel-shading has come from early attempts at simulating 2D animation.
Furthermore, look at those special battles they're highlighting! Sakura fighting Sasori's hundred puppets, an aerial battle between Gaara and Deidara, giant summon matches...it's all quite amazing, at least in terms of eye candy and grandiose spectacle. Furthermore, Tekken 6 fans have extra incentive to pick up the game, as Lars Alexandersson will be included as a bonus character, wearing an outfit designed by Naruto artist Masashi Kishimoto.
Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 will be released in Fall 2010 for PS3 and Xbox 360, a first for the traditionally PlayStation-exclusive Ultimate Ninja series. Hit the jump for a producer interview showing more of the game's wonderful graphics.
This game actually got me into the anime, not the other way around. I am hyped for this game, the original was good, but could use some better gameplay mecahnics and polish. This has potential to be really, really great. Potentially Day 1 purchase.
Is this supposed to be the follow-up to the Broken Bond done in the same action-adventure style? I've never played any of the other consoles Naruto games and it seems like they were all smaller games in comparison to the xbox ones.
This Narutard is smiling on the inside. If a MMO like this came out or even some White Knight Chronicles/Monster Hunter hybrid multi-player come out with the Naruto theme, I would be ecstatic!
This game is made by CyberConnect2, who also made the .hack games and all previous PS2 Naruto games. The previous Xbox Naruto games were done by Ubisoft, so this one is probably not the big action-adventure game you're hoping for.
I've never seen one single Naruto episode, but I'll be damned if that wasn't one of the best trailers for a game I've seen in a long, long time. If the gameplay even remotely matches the visuals, this.........this could be special.
I stopped watching the anime when I got fed up with the Bubble Guy's story. That shit wasn't even in the mangas (or at least according to a friend of mine who has read them).
But this game looks kind of cool, might replace DBZ: Budokai Tenkaichi 3.
Yeah, it does look really damn good, much better than the show. Shame I had to stop watching the show for having the least tolerable protagonist (and antagonist) ever. Why doesn't One Piece get any awesome games like this, if it's the most popular SJ anime going in Japan?
@Hemogoblin:
I encourage you to watch gameplay videos of Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 1, they ARE just that beautiful. When you see it on your own TV, it's amazing.
You know, I'm generally not a Naruto fan (except when Killer Bee or Raikage are in da house beatin' on fools) but I gotta admit, the beginning of Shippuden was really enjoyable, especially with great fights such as Sakura vs. Sasori and Gaara vs. Deidara. Hell, I may even rent this game if just because Sakura and Chiyo's fight against Sasori's 100 puppets was quite possibly my favorite moment in the entire manga/anime (you know, next to the parts where Killer Bee and Raikage are tearin' shit up).
this guy told me everything i wanted to know i bin waiting for a online play naruto pain is in here to hell yeah you know its going to be pain and itachi when every one play online saying dont use him....well ima buy it for the xbox360 i'am a nerd fan for this game add my gamer tag i need some one to play with to kick there buts >=D i never got beat in part on so lets see in this one --->Sk1LLZs gamertag<-----

I'm not a Naruto fan, but that animation was SLICK.
But with that said, them vids are epic.
2. Oh I remember that. Isn't that the story from 1 year ago -.-

Mind. Boggled.
But this is really tempting.
