At the Microsoft press conference, Don Mattrick announced a rather huge coup in the console war with the announcement of a multi-year contract signing concerning Call of Duty. Staring with Call of Duty: Black Ops, all map packs and add-ons will be arriving as timed exclusives on Xbox Live. Essentially, Microsoft is getting all Call of Duty content first.
"You'll want to get all your future Call of Duty games on Xbox," was Mattrick's bold statement.

Exactly my thought. It's not like the people any individual will be playing with will have access to it before them, nor can I imagine too many people foaming at the mouth for new COD maps. There really isn't that much variety to them beneath the surface.
This is the type of thing that makes me hate developers, not love consoles. The only thing worse than this type of bullshit is the exclusive pre-order bullshit that a lot of games are pulling now. When I hear about exclusive pre-order bullshit, it makes me want a game less.

I think their actions now are costing them sales in the next generation, just as Activision is losing future sales on franchises they haven't made yet because they'd rather ride COD/Guitar Hero into the ground.

Sorry guys...XBL still plays better than PSN....just the way it is.
If SONY actually put more money into making PSN perform better this would change....but I am not paying extra money for just Cross Game Voice chat and PS2 games (which should play on all PS3s not just launch ones).
I think you're taking it wrong - Microsft is the ones who charges for online gaming, PSN is free.
