This is the second time I've had the opportunity to interview Niitsuma-san, the producer of Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom and Marvel Vs. Capcom 3. As such, he seemed more comfortable with me this time around. I was certainly more comfortable with him. I can't believe I told him that I sing Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 songs in the shower. I'm such a jackass.
Highlights of the interview include Niitsuma-san's thoughts on the 3DS, how the Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 engine compares to Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 and Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom, our chances of seeing Marvel Vs. Capcom 2-unique characters like Rubyheart and Amingo return in the sequel, designing Deadpool, and more.
Hope you like it. Crap! I'm about to miss my flight (again!)

Meet the rest of the team
At least this interview is better than IGN's interview... Seth Killian had to tap the interviewer's knee just because the interviewer was looking at the MvC3 gameplay the whole time rather than asking questions about the game.
He wants to make a fighting game for the 3DS, but they've already got another team porting SSF4.
I think the solution is obvious - Darkstalkers 4 on the 3DS. I'd actually be really excited for a portable for the first time since the Neo Geo Pocket if that were the case.
Damn good interview. Also, there is literally no way in HELL for this game to not make them a ton of money. I know he was just being modest, but...come on, man!
I'd kill for a Rival Schools game on...well any console to be honest. Seeing Batsu in TvC was pretty awesome, but seeing the whole cast return would be even more awesome.
The videos seem to be in mono because I can only hear them on one side of my headphones. Try changing your audio options. Or (if you're using Firefox) get the downloadhelper addon and play the file on VLC player and switch the output to mono.
Good interview man. You did a good job treating this guy like a human, unlike a lot of interviews I've seen on other sites... Fucking Geoff Keighley...
I'm kinda concerned about him saying that they're going to try to eliminate all the TvC elements from the game and make it as much like MvC2 as possible.
In my eyes, the only thing MvC2 has over TvC is character count. Other than that, it's TvC all the way.
Still waiting on Rival Schools/Project Justice or Power Stone sequel news.
I'm a crack smoker for some Vs. series, don't get me wrong, please. But there's a lot to be said about the total lack of sequels/remakes with their more unsung fighting franchises.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Catch your flight first, bro.
You're probably using XLR into audio right and not mixing the mono.
C'mon guys.

There ya go, my man.

Great interview, by the way.

Do. It.
With the same guy who did the animations for the original.
I like your style, Holmes - calm AND cool. No Darkstalkers, though? Funk that!
But in any case, this game will rock once it's out ;)
