I love this game, I want this game! Ninja Theory's last outing, Heavenly Sword, was conceptually brilliant but practically flawed. Now armed with a real combat system, a great story, and a pair of endearing characters, not to mention the brilliant Andy Serkis, Ninja Theory is back with a game that, from what I've played, looks f*cking amazing. Accompanying our official preview, here are some Jimpressions!
Simply put, Enslaved stood out as one of my games of the show. I love the animation, the bright and colorful take on post apocalyptic Earth, and the awesome interactions between main character Monkey and his female captor/ally Trip. I really appreciated how Monkey's climbing and acrobatics feel natural, intuitive and quick, and I really dug the way in which both Trip and Monkey can distract enemies to draw fire so the other one can do their thing. Combat is quick-paced and very fun, the script is charming and funny, and the visuals, while taking a definite hit thanks to the Xbox 360 development, still manage to be breathtakingly beautiful.
Enslaved: Odyssey to the West is going to be an excellent game from what I played. A definite improvement over Heavenly Sword in nearly every way that matters, Enslaved looks set to be a true sleeper hit. I really hope the rest of the game is as smooth and well paced as what I played, because it truly was an E3 highlight for me.
"shorting"? Really, "shorting"?? Maybe you're the one who needs a vacation. It should be shortening, not "shorting." Is "shorting" even a real word?
On the game note, it could be onto a winner, I hear there are quite a few social groups who enjoy being controlled
Don't let him get to you Jim, because you know you can just thundercock him with words of English something he doesn't know very well.

@the game
I'm glad to hear that it's turned out well, I've had my eye on this for a while.
As for the game, I haven't really read much about it till now, but I'm pretty happily surprised to hear Jim's positive feedback. Game of Show is not a term to bandy about, and I trust Jim's judgement. You could say that I'm ENSLAVED by my ODYSSEY to...nevermind, I'm going to keep an eye on this one.
No idea what you're talking about *shifty eyes*
Back to the game though, I was shocked to hear who the writer was. Now i'm a little more cautiously optimistic. I liked 28 days later, but I despised Sunshine.
I'm excited to see what they do with the old Journey to the West story in this game. I love anything I can compare to Dragonball. (I can't even tell if I was being sarcastic there.)
Yep, it's multiplatform.
Pre E3 Jim would have never said this: "the visuals, while taking a definite hit thanks to the Xbox 360 development"
;) I thought we told you to NEVER CHANGE. x x
Yeah i saw previews of this game and i also believe it could be sleeper hit of the year, looks really cool, a lot of Uncharted 2 influence from what i could tell.
Either way, I find it surprising. Granted, I've never seen Heavenly Sword in motion, but the screens for this game look much more appealing to me than the ones I've seen for Heavenly Sword. (Maybe that's just my preference for this game's art direction.)
Oh, and MONKEY MAAAAAGIC!!!!
all you can say is stereo type comments
Did you mean "stereotypical".
Sorry, I just thought I'd join in. Seems like the thing to do here.
Anyway looking at the screenshots I don't think anyone's going to complain about the graphics
Hah.
Oh, to be a paid troll. Life must be good.
@Rzeznor - Its true that RDR was a tad better on the 360. Thats why Rockstar gave all those free goodies to the PS3 faithful. It was their way of saying sorry for a less then stellar port.
Rage,Killzone 3 and this game are my most wanted this year. Its good to be a gamer.
lol
