E3 10: European box art for the PlayStation Move revealed photo

Sitting at home wondering what kind of box the PlayStation Move is going to come in? Yea, neither was I, but now you know if you live in Europe. If you're at all excited about picking Move up this is one less step you have to suffer through while you're at the store. Now you will know the exact box and art to look for when you get there! Never say Destructoid didn't do anything for you.

I think it's pretty clear from the packaging the type of consumer Sony is trying to get with Move, but anyone who didn't know that already is clearly blind to the fact that both Sony and Microsoft are desperately clawing for a piece of Nintendo's pie.

Glad to see the Move wand is coming in the same impossible to open packaging that the PS3's controllers come in. Those are just such a blast to open.

I thought it said that the package was coming with "wii sports" but it seems, from the package, that it is coming with a starter disc instead? I wonder what's on that disc...

...so the starter pack doesn't come with a nunchuck?

This looks like the European box art. Is it the same in North America?

This screams casual gamer, it even has pictures of people playing with it, just like the Wii.

@Solidus: Doesn't look like it.

@MidnightOwl

It is the European. In my editing I deleted the part that said that and forgot to put it back in. Corrected and apologies.

At first I didn't care, but this is actually helpful so I can gauge how embarrassed I will be leaving the store.

The American box art just has blood on it and comes with Manhunt HD. Gonna be awesome.

Kinda nasty that a starter pack doesn't come with the other half of the controller, which will surely be required for most games that offer an experience that's evolved from the Wii.

Kinda nasty about the price, too. If a Move controller is $50 in the USA, I'd expect us UK lot to be paying around £35, which is exactly the price I refuse to pay for a second Dualshock 3. Looks like the costs of this thing are going to be as bad as Nintendo's for a fully adept Wii Remote. (around £75 RRP for remote, nunchuck and M+ over here!)

Sure the packaging looks casual, but killzone, socom, gt5 and dead space 2 (to name just a few) are certainly not.

I hope the individual parts are released on the same day as I already have the eye and a move stick and nunchuck combo is a day 1 purchase for me.

Why hasn't a move + subcontroller bundle been announced? I'm waiting.

Actually looks more ridiculous than I was expecting. Sony is full of surprises this week.

Tired of people bitching about the price and lack of bundle for the sub-controller on this thing. If you look at the Wii, you have to pay just as much to get a wiimote, nunchuk, and motionplus support($80). Even on amazon.com, the bundle for just a wiimote and nunchuk is $80. So yeah, price isn't worth bitching about when compared to what Nintendo has been doing with their controllers.

RE: Nunchuck - has it been confirmed or denied that you can use half of a sixaxis as the "nunchuck" part?

I'm sure I've read that you can just hold a sixaxis/dualshock in your other hand and use it as the "nunchuck".

Still looking like a sex toy.

@Jack8274 - AGREED. Sony and MS are making no effort to improve the credibility of controllerless gaming, all they want to do is exploit the Wii owning families

Uh, microsoft is controller free. Sony's move has buttons, which turned out to be pretty important!

I'm buying this. Looks fun. Plus, if it really is that precise, it's going to be awesome for shooters.

@Sexualchocolate "Note: DUALSHOCK 3 and SIXAXIS wireless controller can be used in place of the sub controller for all games that are compatible with the sub controller"
