Let me just start by saying Donkey Kong Country 2 is my favorite game of all time. When Nintendo first showed off Donkey Kong Country Returns -- an upcoming Retro Studios-developed 2.5D platformer for the Wii -- earlier today, I kind of lost it for a second there. I mean, really lost it.
Then, I became kind of worried. Worried like only a fan stuck in the past could be. Now that I've had time to let DKCR sink in, though -- I'm feeling better. Much, much better. Retro Studios kicks all kinds of ass, as far as I'm concerned, and this game looks super promising.
Plus, it can be a two-player co-op game, if you want. Believe me, I very much want that. Obligatory dibs on Diddy Kong!
Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied: "bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

This is the game of the show right here. I loved Donkey Kong Country on the SNES, and Retro has once again worked their magic for Nintendo. I looks great, it looks like it plays as great as the old ones on the SNES did and the music sounds amazing as well. Its a totally package of awesomeness!
Retro is now officially awesome. First the Metroid Prime trilogy and now Donkey Kong Country? They've got the franchise-resurrecting golden touch or something. :D
@Dv8thwonder Indeed, they do. Rare could have been in the spotlight with DKC, Banjo-Kazooie, and of course in another dimension, a Jet Force Gemini game. But sadly, it won't.
I knew this is what Nintendo's big suprise was. I remember being in 6th grade when the first DKC came out on the SNES. I think im going to Dl DKC2 tonight.
Anyway, that's great, i can't wait.
Not that I'm really complaining but these are some weird subtitles. Returns, epic yarn, skyward sword, uprising, the other m. This almost feels like a Renaissance for nintendo franchises
the DKC and DKC2 combo was the awesome on snes. Let's hope this revamps the series with that sweet platforming fun we've tasted on those classics.
ALSO CO-OP MULTIPLAYER FTWWWWWWWWWWWWW
Looks great, I'm too excited for this. And I love Retro Studios so much right now... Metroid and Donkey Kong? I wonder what they'll tackle next... A portable Zelda game maybe? I can only hope.
DKC2 has a permanent spot in my Top 10(DKC3 isn't too far behind). I feel like the fucking sun just came out from behind the clouds, and it rained bananas and DK Coins.

AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH TOO MUCH NINTENDO OWNAGE IN ONE DAYYYYY FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
DK Country is one of the few games that I've beaten so many times with my GF this is GREAT news!!
You know how much I am excited for this.
If David Wise is hired to compose the music, I will go fucking crazy.
How many noteworthy 2D platformers have come out in the past decade?
Anyway, that's great, i can't wait.
Can't wait for Blackout Basement and Stop-And-Go Lights' revenge.
DO WANT
ALSO CO-OP MULTIPLAYER FTWWWWWWWWWWWWW
GoldenEye = Activision = DO NOT WANT.
DKC Returns = Retro Studios = DO WANT.
They'd better compose a nice new fanfare to open with. It's a DKC tradition.
*High five*
Nintendo just made this E3 one of the BEST, EVER!
DON'T fuck this up, Retro. Pleeeeeease.
