Despite the obvious "assets" of this game, its still one of my fave 3-D punch/kick games for its fighting mechanics. It was my fighting games of choice on the PS1 along with Soul Blade, and then again on the PS2 along with Soul Calibur #-something-or-other. Sure Tekken has always been great, but DOA was just more fun, with its crazy fast reversals and flowing fighting.

Hayate and Raidou in the same screen? Uh. Raidou was killed in the first game, Hayate doesn't appear until the end of the second game. And it looks like they're in Tengu's stage too. Then Ayane has her DOA3+ costume. What is this madness? Prequel? Retconning to buggery? Why bother anyway, DOA has such a bad rep now that not many new players are going to come running to this and most of the core DOA fans got sick of the ninjas years ago, just look up any DOA community forum. If they're going to remake any of the games, retcon anything or reboot the series or whatever else, don't bother showing off the ninjas...
Either way, I'm sold. DOA was the second fighting game and the first 3D fighting game I ever played, way back in the arcades. I bought a PS2 primarily for DOA2:HC, an Xbox for DOA3 and a 360 for DOA4. Looks like I'll be buying a 3DS now.
