Hey! E3 2010 starts this week! A ton of stuff has already been revealed and there's still plenty more to be seen. The dreamy Dale North knows a thing or two about this little industry of ours and chatted with our Video Editor-in-Chief, R3y, about his thoughts on what the big three companies are putting their money behind.
Who do you think can win at E3 this year? Can Nintendo continue their handheld dominance with the 3DS? Will the Move be worth it? Will there be a Project Natal game that won't make you look stupid idiot while playing it?
Hamza Aziz, Destructoid's Community Director, has been here since day one. He was born when a tiger coughed up a hairball into a pool of ooze. He was one of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before budget cuts. Hamza works as a previews editor and manages a team in San Francisco. To date he has given away tens of thousands of dollars in prizes to readers. What a dick. Actually, Hamza is as kind as he is hairy.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
2. Probably not
3. Depending on WTF the thing is actually capable of, I'd say a while before there is a CITIZEN KANE OF KINECT.
Sony Question: Move has potential because of it's 1:1 accuracy, so it will probably be worth it.
Microsoft Question: Does using Kinect to choose movies and games by just moving your fingers count as a game?? I like to watch Netflix on my Xbox 360, but then I get too lazy to use the controller to turn off the movie.
Had what??
I'm trying to not call it a Wiimote here, folks, I want to be fair to Sony. It looks like a dildo.
The things I'm worried that they haven't accounted for is living room space and lighting. Cameras depend on light and I know from Wario Ware Snapped alone that my room does not accommodate that
As low-tech as the IR sensor bar is for the Wii, its not going to rely on a light source. Since the Sony Dildo has a lit knob, it will be able to track better in lower lighting.
But I never liked the Eyetoy shit Sony had and the fact that some of the tech demos have been revivals of Eyetoy trash, I'm not terribly sold on the software side of things, even though I think the tech is better than MS's is.
I think MS and Sony are dancing like fools for Nintendo, really, and while they're playing catch-up with motion control, Nintendo gets to show off the 3DS and steal the spotlight.
And Nintendo always does this. Sony might show off more games, but few people will be awake by the time the Sony press conference is done with the charts and graphs. And there are always charts and graphs.
Oh yeah. That's one tasty mop there...
Actually, it can.

And if you're comparing Move to the Wii Remote (sans MotionPlus), then it would be more accurate to compare the Wii Remote and the Sixaxis. Move and MotionPlus are analogous in that they are peripheral devices related to expanded motion controls.
It's just MotionPlus is several times cheaper.
(And from the recent Move video, it looks like Sony's offering requires just as much recalibration, too...)
High five! Also, quack!
mind=blown
