Pretty rad, right? It is unclear exactly how the game will be played, but glimpses of the on-screen reticule and ridiculous amounts of cutting things in half help shed some light on this mysterious, though highly anticipated, title. Looks like an action-heavy game starring Raiden in the vein of Ninja Gaiden with a large focus on precise slicing. DID YOU SEE HIM CUT A VAN INTO PIECES? So amazing.
What do you think of the trailer? Do you take back all the mean things you may have said about Raiden after his, some say, whiny role in Metal Gear Solid 2? How excited are you for Metal Gear Solid: Rising?

I'll admit it, I wasn't high on the prospects for this game. But after seeing a few seconds of gameplay and watermelon slicing, this could be quite fun.
I highly doubt Microsoft would reveal this game's trailer just moments before announcing that "everything from this point on will be an Xbox exclusive," if it wasn't coming to the PS3 too. Its looking like they just got exclusivity on the reveal, and the game is going multiplat.
Yep, exactly what I thought. With the slow-mo and the "line" indicating the slice.
I'm interested, surprisingly. Cutting dudes up is never a bad thing.
@Dr Deal Good
Nope, MGS:Rising is Xbox 360 exclusive because it was announced multi-platform last year, it doesn't have the "Only On Xbox 360" logo, and it was shown before the guy said that everything else after is Xbox 360 exclusive. Btw, when does the Nintendo/Sony E3 Conference start tomorrow? Is Gametrailers.com gonna have a live stream of it tomorrow?
I'm still feeling a bit hesitant about this game, seeing as how Kojima is only 'presenting' it and not properly producing it. The trailer definitely got me excited though!
I hope to god if they do it with Kinect that it is done well, I am kind of hoping that they stick to a controller for this one or at least give you an option between the two.
@Shane Saiyan,
Yeah, I am bummed the watermelon part got cut off as well. It's the best part! We are going to replace this video with our own once we are done with it, so check back later. It should have the watermelon part! :)
If you can seriously cut anything in the game world that could be really cool, since Metal Gear has always been about finding abstract ways solve problems.
@Uther
It seems to be only about killing so far. It would pretty weird if you try all the MGS games non-lethally. One of the themes with Solid Snake is how he regrets killing, but it seems Raiden is ok with it.
@Tachyon
I think they should give you an option but getting Kojima to support Kinect, and if it worked well, would totally sell this "hardcore" crowd. And it would separate it from the PS3 version assuming it wouldn't use Move.
I'm very excited for this. When they first announced metal gear rising, I wondered how the hell they were going to continue considering that Metal Solid 4 was made as a conclusion to the series, but that trailer has made me optimistic.
I might rent it for PS3. I dont think it will be as accurate with kinect. How will it control? Will you put your 360 controller down for the slicing parts? Id have to see someone playing it to really understand. Either way, kinect or move, it just looks way too gimmicky and Raiden looks like cyborg david bowie.
It might end up being a decent character action game but that trailer totally killed any interest I had in the game. That's not the Metal Gear that I'm looking for.
I was hoping for it be more along the lines of DMC or Bayonetta. I wanted it to be more like what Raiden could do in the MGS4 cutscenes. As it stands, it looks like a slow action game focused on slicing things up.
Even as a fan of the series I wasn't too high on this until now.(Also I still haven't procured a PS3 to play MGS4) Be cool if there was some kind of stealth mechanic. More in tune with Batman AA and Splinter Cell Conviction. Sadly, doesn't look like that will be the case.
Never been a fan of Ninja Gaiden type action games but it's MGS and you get to slice dudes into tiny bits.

That alone makes me happy.

@FalconReaper No you're not. That was my first thought.
It looks AWESOME. That bit with the watermelon at the end is priceless. Shame it's cut off in this article.

Is this a 360 exclusive?
Either way I will buy it but I like my PS controller :)

It would be a crazy smart decision on MS' part.
Not hyped.

Would like to see how this plays out, but would like to see some traditional Metal Gear gameplay too.
