E3 10: Animal Crossing really pops on the 3DS

The reveal images for Nintendo's 3DS games continues with none other than Animal Crossing. Yep, that's what the company is calling it for now -- just "Animal Crossing." No "3DS" in the name, but I'd be surprised if that doesn't eventually become the case.

The game clearly makes good use of the handheld's processing power and graphical capabilities, as you can see in the attached screenshots. What else do we know? Very little at this time, sadly. All Nintendo is saying currently is that Animal Crossing will make use of the 3DS' new-and-improved wireless functionality.

Sounds like a match made in heaven, to me.
