Destructoid has gotten its hands on a world exclusive trailer for the impressive looking Steampunk adventure game, Edge of Twilight. This is a special gift from the studio to us, and can only be viewed on Destructoid. I wanted to keep it to myself, but I guess I'll share.
Quite why the game was not shown at Southpeak's booth, or why developer Fuzzyeyes had to show me the trailer in a quiet corner of the showfloor, I do not know. What I do know, however, is that this video is absolutely amazing, and should be viewed by anyone who likes a really epic video.
This game is looking hotter and hotter with each new video, and I have incredibly high hopes for it. I don't know why it's being kept so quiet, either. This game deserves attention.
Jim Sterling serves as reviews editor for Destructoid.com, head of the Podtoid podcast, and produces a number of news stories, original features, one-of-a-kind videos. With his passionate argumentative style, controversial opinions, harsh delivery, and dedication to brutal honesty Sterling is a name that you can't help but recognize.

That looks very, very impressive. And I prefer Cyberpunk to Steampunk.
Mainly looking at it from an artistic point of view, not only is Steampunk hard to get right on a technical level in terms of polycount and lots of moving objects, but artistically it's a challenge too, and that trailer just proves that the developer, in my opinion at least, executed it fantastically.
Why the hell this is being kept quiet I have no idea, but it's nice to see a Dtoid exclusive. ;)
This is clearly a studio that knows how to build excitement for a game. Most developers out there over-hype their game so that whatever gets produced is inevitably a disappointment. I'm intrigued.
Oh my God that was hot. Beautiful art design, gorgeous graphics, and some pretty damn slick action bits. It certainly looks pretty, but I wonder if it's actually fun to play...
The Golden Avatar mentioned he was skeptical about anything coming from South Peak, so I checked their release history. Turns out they're responsible for X-Blades, which most D-toiders should be uncomfortably familiar with, especially you, Sterling. They're also responsible for both Two Worlds AND Velvet Assassin, two notoriously bad games.
So yeah, as much I love these trailers (my loins quiver with every word that comes out of the narrator's mouth), I'm just as skeptical that this might end up being anything other than awful.
I'm really excited for this game and I only first heard about it a few days ago. I'm a huge fan of the steampunk aesthetic so the thought of a game like this makes me lose sleep. The more polished brass, the better.
I heard from a friend that this title is not connected to Southpeak anymore, I guess Fuzzyeyes have some taste, plus I do not see any Southpeak logo on the video.
I've always wanted a steam punk inspired game and this looks amazing. I really hope this turns out well, trailer gave me goosebumps as well. Combat looks intriguing.
Think it would be cool if you could build your weapons or have a very detailed upgrading system to go with the steam punk element.
Anyone else think this looks kind of shit? It's like last year's graphics, on last decade's gameplay engine, narrated by Yoda doing his best "Voice of God" impression.
I can't be the only one, but judging from the comments in this thread it's pretty clear that most of you have very low standards. That or you all have 360s and things are worse on that side than even I had realized.
@hpv It's just a trailer. I'm sure the graphics will be better when it's actually released. I agree that the voice was a little Yoda-ish in the beginning.
A+ for your efforts at trolling though. The last thing we need is a PS3 vs 360 flame war.
Coming from someone close to the team; Southpeak are no longer involved with the project and Fuzzyeyes are currently going through the legal process in order to make it official. Hence why you won't see Southpeak's logo on any of the new promotional material for Edge of Twilight, or any of the material shown at E3.
Fuzzyeyes are currently seeking a new publisher for Edge of Twilight.
hpv: Those graphics are incomplete. Besides which, it is a small, small studio, and I am frankly impressed that they've created even this much with their small size and budget. I think it looks really good right now, and it's not even finished. It's certainly not as beautiful as some games out there, but the art style overrides it, in my opinion.
I have been watching this game's development (at least what has been available on IGN/Gamespot) for roughly a year in change and I like what I have seen.
@hpv
Uhhh...what does this have to do with the 360? Last time I checked, this game was listed as multi-plat. I guess some people will go way out of their way to bash a console...

You too, right?
The music and slowmo really nailed the feel of the trailer for me, I am very interested in this game now.
So many great action games coming out!

I will root for this game's success.
I'm defiantly going yo keep this on my radar from now on.

As of now, I'm a fan.
If that's true this game now has a chance to be good. Southpeak is the 4kids of video games. If you see the logo you know it sucks
