Looking for some more excitement in your Wipeout Fury HD? Well, Sony has just announced the details of its expansion pack, which will include another 8 tracks, doubling what the game has already, plus another 13 ships. That's more ships than was originally in the game.

The game will also have three new modes: Eliminator, a free-for-all melee; Zone Battle, a breakneck race to capture Zones before your opponent; and Dentonator, where you'll be dodging and blasting away mines strewn throughout the field.

That's quite a bit they've tacked on, along with online play for Zone Battle and Eliminator and new trophies for the game. Sony will be showing off more of it during E3, so I'm sure the team will talk about it more when they stop by the booth.

While I haven't fired up Wipeout HD on my PS3 in a while, there was some time there that I was insanely addicted to that game. This will most likely reignite that addiction.

Damn, am I glad I waited to play the game, I had it for months sitting on my hard drive waiting to be played at the right time and so I could give it full attention.

I think that time is coming soon, great Wipeout trailer as usual.

@benus

It might be because HD is based a lot more on Pulse than Pure. I also found that turning the sensitivity up on both acceleration and airbrakes made the craft a little easier to handle.

As for this expansion, HOLY CRAP WANT NOOOOOOW. I saw some of my favourite Pulse tacks in there. I just hope they one day bring in custom ship skins like they have on Pulse

I thought wipeout fury was the rage one gets while playing the game because it's so damn hard.

8 new tracks, 13 new ships, and three new modes? Damn that's a lot of stuff. How much will this be priced at?
